Play 2 now...
Some of the effects on this reminded me of the breathing sound Kraftwerk used in the song Tour de France. And in some ways this makes me think that it's the beat side of Ambient (like if one were to swap synths for drums). And that said, I think this track would be a whole lot cooler if ya threw in some forrest sounds (animal calls, wood creeking, and such). To give it more natural flavor or something. Cool stuff mate. Later on!

Thanx for your review on this song. I always appreciate input from other people. I was shooting for a truly dry sound on this song. Nothing that really "sticks out" so to speak. Kind of like a back wooded children's lullaby.

Closer to dubstep in a Burial kinda way yes? Ever listened to Slaughter Mob or babylon System? White Boi? I think this track has some trance dub elements to it that you could really play on! pretty nice actually.

Think this might be better placed in electronica. There's very little dubbing in this tune IMO. You could push it towards dubstep maybe, but it's gotta along way to reach dub skank.

That being said, I do happen to like your strings and synth lines. It's a pretty decent riddim. My tips would be, slow it down. effect the drums so as to give them BIG space. verbs on the snares, maybe some slight doubling delay on the hihats etc. It's a real straight forward hip hop style beat, but if you could play with the tempo and effects on the individual drums, it could skank.

Also look for a place in the sequence where you could add a skank piano plink or a guitar chord in a reggae style. Think upbeat stabs with long echoing delays. I say go forward on this track, more space in between and bigger effects! werd em up!

Very interesting soundscape, I imagined floating down a river, being privvy to different tribal lives. It ain't dub tho.
