Hey pedro, It's great to play on standards, but to have a standard played with such skill as you have shown on this is a dream! I play standards all the time, and they give the humble jazz musician the material to work, develop, create and put food on the table..

A lecturer I know told me this story. At the graduation of his year, he pulled his class of musicians into an empty classroom to wish them good luck now they had finished their studies with him. He asked them to raise their hands if they would session for Sting, all hands went up. He then asked who would work on a cruise liner in a band, all hands went up. He then asked who would play the northeast club circuit, only a few put their hands up. He then asked who would play at the local Italian pasta/pizza place, one hand was raised. He trned to that one person and said "You will be a professional musician and will always work". He turned to the rest and said " I feel you should all find other work outside of music"..

I think a bright future is just around the corner for you my friend..

Cheers Slap...

wow thanks alot mate :) - i hope to do something with my 'BMus(hons) Jazz' which will enable me to put food on the table. when I get back from my lengthy hiatus i'm gonna hunt you down and force you to mentor me haha ;)

but its such a privilege to play with such an accomplished musician, who'd have thought this virtual musical connection could have came from me merely trying to find some loops haha, we are the north east virtual jazz scene haha.

btw who's this lecturer? I had a lecturer who liked to bang on about sting a bit haha

thanks alot Slap

You're right, it blew me away. Very, very nice, love your piano work. And wow, what can you say about Mr. Slap Johnson that hasn't already been said?! I was recently working on a "Smooth Jazz" track in which I used a few of Slap Johnsons sax loops. And let me tell you, it made my song a thousand times better. But I guess he's good at doing that, right? Keep up the great work and I'll be checking out more of your music.
Peace

We have a place cald "Dante's Down the Hatch" Here in Atlanta, Ga. Very expensive resturant. In the center there's a Pirate ship surounded with water and Crocadiles. On the deck of the ship is some more tables and at one end a jazz band. I can imagine sitting there listening to this. Beautiful song.

Wow that's just beautiful. When you can set up a tone and emotion with a piece of music and make it seem effortless, you have accomplished everything that a musician can hope for. Expertly played and produced. I love it. Straight to the favorites with this one. Thanks. Peace, Six

thank you very much, i am very pleased with the production of this track, the only thing i could have wished for would be live percussion, however.......that is not possible, so till i spout a pair of congas im stuck with the old Cynthia the Synth sound haha

i just had to play on one of your tracks (you are the jazzman).
You are one hell of a pianist and musician my new found friend, and I enjoyed playing and hearing every note of this work... Thank you for allowing this to happen, my life is fuller with your music in it...

Cheers Slap...
PedroCasillas
PedroCasillas replied Unknown
maaan, you really made the track, thank you so much, i'm not really a pianist by any means, i did guitar for me degree but i just prefer the sound of piano, but dude i'm gonna try make some more originals for you, but if theres any standards you really like, or if you'd like me to pick i'll make some backing for you, i've got all the real books n fake books on me computer so nowts a bother.

+ does the song go tenor - soprano - flute - tenor?
i absolutely adore the flute solo!

thanks again

One of my favorite artists is Peter White. I can listen to him all day and never get enough. George Duke's the center of my heart. Those brothas can play the keys on a piano in a way that captures the soul, stirs the loins, and a whole lotta other good stuff. You're definitely in that category and should probably be so famous we wouldn't even have the opportunity to be blessed by your talent without standing in a long line somewhere to either buy your CD, or get into your concert. YES! You made my "very short" favorite's list with this piece. Oh yeah, I downloaded it too. So what if White & Duke get jealous. Gotzta hear this over and over and over and... Well, you get the picture. Beautiful work!!

Genius from front to back. I just love this style(Bueno fista social club). You and I need to work on a track (me thinks). I love Keith J's playing also (the only thing that spoils it, is when the mic picks him up singing along in that funny voice).

Cheers Slap... Only 50 miles south of you...

hey dude, yeh i'd deffo be up for doin a track, gimmie a style, tempo, genre, key and i'll provide you a cool backing to jam over,

also I think keith's little noises and whines are brilliant haha, however a large census seems to dictate that i am the only one who thinks so haha

where abouts u at like northallerton?

So I can send the final mix.

Click on my avatar, then click contact me.

You won't regret..
I think I kept the overall consistency of your skill and playing.
I widened the bass quite a bit.. A LOTTTTA reverb.
Some special effects.

I think you will be pleased.
(And if you aren't-- i can fix it or Just delete it or whatever)
