Guitar early on is cool. Nice lazy drum groove. Only complaint about it is that maybe the kick could be a bit louder.
Sax works really well. I don't have many good sax VST instruments in my musical arsenal so perhaps I should look about for something better. Good, expressive sax (synth) playing too.
Just a cool, lazy laidback-as-fuck blues jam.
Guitar is maybe a bit too loud at certain points, overshadowing the groove a bit but not that big a deal. Beat is still pretty strong and insistent.
Piano (especially high tinkly notes) is also good.
Perhaps the track is a bit too long as it doesn't have too many obvious changes but that suits this kind of vibe.
Overall: well done on an authentic late night blues jam.
Thank you for the good comment. I do appreciate all of the collaboration and support from this site. Without Looperman, I was alone in my music hobby. Peace, PDMuzak
I can always deal with some good blues and this is really nice. Great guitar, great sax which you said you played on the keyboard. It sounds quite authentic...Good job!
When i noticed who's onboard for this collab I rushed to push the play button...and...was blown away!!...so this means I'm not here anymore...bye....:)
I mean...really...this is crazy good!!...The sickest sax I ever heard and the genius of Ed's guitar...ultimative killer
combination....everything else is top notch too!! Ofcourse I expected something exquisite but not this madness which really took me by surprise...Thank you guys for this tremendous treat!
Compliments and respect to all involved______Orlando
The atmosphere that caught me...than that fabulous sax play...what software did you use for this tune? It's got a bloody live sound...
Ed's wah play is superb as usual, but my 2 cents is that it was a bit much when the 2 instru played together...
Was it a bariton tone?
Anyways, instant fav and huge congrats for both of you...
Thanks for the comments. As far as mixing, Ed did all of the mixing. The sax was performed on keyboard using a combination of audio from my Yamaha keyboard and a built in Cakewalk sax Vst that I modified to create an air sound. The patch from the Yamaha YPG -535 was #75 Growl sax. Thanks PDMuzak
Thanks for letting me tag along Pat....some of the finest key & sax playing I have ever had the privilege of playing along with...look forward to the next one whenever it may be....You should do a couple of reviews/comments on other tracks & get this one bumped over to the Featured track pages....Thanks again...Ed
Nicely done! I love this style of Rock music. Phazed out sounds whaling around - I love it. The beginning is cool and builds suspense. Great job and I enjoyed this track of yours very much!
Man, this is nice, PDM! I have the two most popular versions of this song in my music collection, and you did a great jazzy version of it...Good job and hope to hear more like it.
Ah, really nice version of this song. My mom and dad used to listen to Andy Williams sing this one over and over, dancing along cheek to cheek. I used to play trombone to the Henry Mancini/Johnny Mercer version when I was a wee lad, haha.
Really took me down memory lane. You have great chops on several different instruments - a musician's musician for sure.
This one got my day off to a great start. Beautiful work from start to finish. Thanks for sharing. I hope all is well.
Thanks for the kind words. I think we may share the same decades. As far as being able to play multiple instruments. I would like to claim I do. But the keyboard is the only instrument I play. Thank goodness for VSTs to provide the sounds I need.-Thank you PDMuzak
ah yes...originally an old Percy Faith orchestra number I think?...you really have put a great jazzy spin on the theme (that low-tuned guitar is great stuff)...being an old guy who cut his youthful guitar teeth on instrumental tunes by the likes of The Ventures and similar groups you know I am no stranger to this one...This one would have been a hit on my radio any decade Pat...some of those old songs that stick in your head over the years never really get old...we just change the way we hear them...a wonderful tribute and I can tell you did this one with a lot of thought and patience and I hear the careful work you did on the details...sorry for your loss my friend...it is part of the journey that those of us fortunate enough to stick around for enough years have to experiance...and honour....well done.....Ed
Wonderful track... this is an instant classic.
This is so sweet and sad at the same time: a beautiful tribute to your parents.
We should never forget the ones we love, they will always stays with us.
The arrangement is really perfect: you have a lot of layers of sound working perfectly all together. I imagine this was not easy to mix and you did a wonderful job.
Thanks for the kind words. My folks have been gone since 03/04. And this was a tribute to their generation. My music style does vary. I'm going to try to get into more space / Jazz later
