Yo. Good collection of sounds you have here.

Not quite sure what you're playing apart from the piano. Maybe the busy, funky little basssline?

Yes, guitar is beautifully played and recorded. I agree that it's the backbone of the track.

Drum break works well. Seems to stand up to being repeated many times.

By the time the beat kicks back in on 3:26, I think you're just repeating yourself. There's nothing new in the final two sections so the track could definitely be shorter. Just as well it's good stuff. Ultimately, have it as long as you like - I just offer my honest opinion.

Overall, a funky little acoustic track. Not sure what genre this is...

Hey BT

mate last track reviewing for the day, very interesting track, that takes you on a journey, don't know what it is about this track, has a haunting but infectious something about it, that draws you into listening and not letting you go until it ends, sign of a very good piece of work, personally I think you have done this track right without a beat, reckon a beat would detract from what you have done here...Fav...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...

The percussion on this IS SICK. I love it. I love the mellow guitar. It add to the vibe I am having. Like your girl has just came to you after a romantic dinner to tell you she has been having an affair for months. But that is just my mind. I like the simple piano riff it just does just that for me. Nice track. I listened a couple days ago and I just wasnt able to comment

I appreciate your kind words
I'm glad you enjoy this one. The breakbeat is a loop I picked up on musicradar.com...they have a large selection of royalty free, free loops and samples and i find myself using alot of stuff from there. The guitar loop is from here (props to hamood).
Fire Path refers to a cycle of breathing in the chinese art of Qi Gong (pronounced chi kung). This natural breathing method is often used in combat and much like this track instills a feeling of tranquility and calm focus (cellos and guitar loop) combined with swift and powerful action (breakbeat).

But very nice in it's own right...

I like fusion because you never know what it's going to be a fusion of. That guitar is sounding sweet and very cleanly recorded. Is that you or a loop? Nice sounding bass guitar and dig that breakbeat.
This is really good. I'm digging the blend of instruments here. Something a little bit different for this evening with a nice summertime vibe.

I'm glad you enjoyed this one.
The guitar is a loop from here by hamood called acoustic delay and yes I agree it is an exceptionally well recorded loop. Very inspiring and more or less the backbone for this entire track.I still am blown away by the cello samples too. there are alot of things about this track sonically that make it interesting for me.
Again thank you for your listen and your comments, I appreciate it.

Like the sampling at the beginning. It's a shame that i'm only listening on my lap top speakers because this sounds like it deserves to be played on a system. Digging those arps. It could have gone on for a lot longer.
Good work.

BadTrailer replied 8th Jul 2014 - 11 years ago
Thank you
You are very kind.
I don't know that I'm the one to teach anyone anything about music.
I will will suggest that you listen...lots..to everything. ..and ask specific questions. Like what is that sound? What is that effect? How do you use that piece of equipment?
And then try everything and anything.
music production is about finding your own path
Make your music for you and it will always be bulletproof.
Thanks again for the high praise

A pleasant, dreamy thing, with the spoken word adding very much to that far out, lazy, dreamy vibe.

So too does the higher, delayed synth in the background. Beat is decent though I'd prefer it to change a bit even though the track is short.

This seems like an intro to something longer and more epic. Are you planning to extend it?

BadTrailer replied 7th Jul 2014 - 11 years ago
Thanks for the listen
I think this is it man I agree thst it coild intro or outro something bigger but for right now it is what it is. We'll see if the "epic" track comes or if this is just a passing gem.
Thanks again for your kind words and input.

Yo again. Thanks for the praise and no need to be too humbled.

Shame you didn't say what you're actually doing on this. Playing guitar maybe? I guess bass and piano are loops you've got from somewhere.

Anyway, bass is kind of subtle in my headphones. Could probably do with being turned up at some points. Spacey long held note pad is quite loud but that's OK though I'd vary its volume at different points rather than just have it sitting at a static volume and position in the mix. Small thing but could help make this even better.

Lots of tasty guitar playing and some of those high sort of wails (eg 1:51) are great. One criticism of the guitar is that I could have done without so much space between some of the sections eg 2:00-2:26. Had to wait 26 secs to get more of that tasty playing without any extra element taking over inbetween.

This is a vibe, groove and bed of sounds that all sit very well for some grooving deep mega chill but I would prefer a change or two. Maybe even just dropping some elements out eg turning that spacey pad down at certain times. But a definite change would help too.

So, I'm asking for a bit more busyness in this and variety though what you have is absolutely fine without any changes. When I hear something good, I want it to be even better and try hard to work out what I would do differently. Not that it's my music, so you do what you like with it.

Great work...

P.S. It sounds faster than 80 BPM but tempo can be a deceptive thing. I've got different tracks at the same tempo where it sounds as if there's a 20-30 BPM difference between them.

BadTrailer replied 3rd Jul 2014 - 11 years ago
Where to start....
Thank you for takin the time to listen and share your thoughts. It is appreciated.
Yes the piano and bass are a loop which was mentioned in the description. And the stray chord guitar is a sample that I looped. Even the tasty guitar stuff you like was loops albeit sparingly used. I played the synths myself (both the chorded pad and the part that I think you are calling the wailing guitar). It is at 80bpm and the whole track really started with the conga loop but the jazz drum groove is at 160bpm.
This is not the finished track by any means and I was very deliberate in leaving large spaces for others to work with.
I've got a few instrumental ideas of my own as well for filling the gaps in the event i don't get a vocal.
This seemed like a great opportunity to work within the looperman community as opposed to just posting tracks and taking loops.
I really appreciate this site as a resource and a place of fellowship.
Music producers are a different breed and finding people to share production ideas with in the real world is tough sometimes.
Again I really appreciate the time you have taken and thank you for your input.
Peace

Yes, yes, yes.

This is damn cool and deeply chilled with my kind of laid back cymbal-led jazz groove plus extra percussion. Nice tinkly piano on top and some good, emotional chords.

Cool guitar later on too.

I'm busy now but will return later to give a fair bit of additional detail.

Hey,

sound really nice, maybe an idea to add the bmp if u want colab??
if posible i would look for a atmospherical female vocal, that u can sample / fade in and out of percussive use.

Keep up the good work and i'm looking forward to hear the new version;)

digging it man, very cool stuff that is right up my alley.
funny thing is that there was a brief moment when it reminded me a little of myself. i have no idea why or how, like i can't even play the guitar - so i don't know what the hell my brain was going through in the moment it produced that thought.
to cut a long story short: well done man, sweet tune you made. got any more that go into a similar direction?
