Thank you! I've been working hard on getting everything up to where it currently is. I'm beginning to get back into intrumental production, but until I'm confident enough with that, I use Adrian Boeckeler's art.
Very impressive song! Lyricism was amazing, and the beat complimented your vocals. I can feel the messages you're conveying in this track. Keep it up! Check out my tracks when you get a chance, and leave some feedback. I'd really appreciate it.
Dang man! Love the passion you put into the lyrics! Try to work on your flow and make it a little more consistent and maybe you could go somewhere with this!
The main thing I need to work on is hesitance. I would be doing live shows and already selling - locally, but I'm OCD with my brand. I'd much rather have a ready and quality product, strong stage presence and a solid platform. Rather than hopping up on stage, telling people who I am, and them forget because there wasn't anything to remember me, or my label by other than this random artist doing a good job at performing a song nobody's heard before.
Nice track here! I really like the use of the looney tune samples. Your rap is very nice as well. It will be interesting to hear the finish product with other rappers on this, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, appreciate the input!
I can't wait to see what people come up with. I'm a very impatient person, but I want to wait for the best two verses that come in - hopefully from individuals I haven't worked with before. This way I can see what other sorts of artists my style can blend with.
Great track man...when I listen to music I like to see into it and feel the artist's level of commitment whether he (or she) is trying and not just faking it, you get a big thumbs up in this department the vocals are excellent and you've obviously put in some hard yards on the production side as well. You've definitely got the goods, go for it!
My guest judge and I will score your verse on may 16th. If your verse scores the highest it'll be laced into the final mix of the song. As well, I'll promote one of your songs at my expense. Also, between now and then well send an email blast to everyone interested in the contest (artists and listeners) once we publish the verse on my websites contest page. On this page people will listen to your verse and like/dislike your verse. So you can have all your friends drop a like and show some love in the comment section to earn extra points. I'm all about making win/win opportunity. It's only a matter of willingness to be a part of someone else's movement. The more who take part, and follow this event the better the odds are of it becoming an annual thing. Even with a potential cash prize next year.
I've got plans for this song (non-profitable) including a bunch of promo both online and in local spots. It is going to be a part of a free conceptual EP which will be available on my website, and datpiff.com. I'll be doing music videos to promote the EP directing additional traffic towards this song, which you can be a part of.
I never listen to Hip-Hop because it's always the opposite of this track. I really enjoyed this. The chorus vocals are really great and sound professional. Very good.
Phrasing and lyrics were very good also, and really I couldn't find anything negative to say about your track. I try to give constructive criticism, but I dug this thoroughly.
Hey Evisma, thanks for the feedback! Believe it or not this was recorded with a flipping Kareoke Revolution mic! All the 'professional' sound you hear is all my post editing (mastering) that I do to get it to sound it's best. It was a part of an album so I had to try and do my best.
I got irritated with the popping and didn't have the funds to order a pop filter when recording the album, and so I made one with a wire hanger and a kleenex. And that's the setup I had when recording this. I'm currently saving up for a mid level mic that will provide a more crisp sound than this. When I get it, I'll be re-recording the entire album. And anyone who's purchased the album thus far will get the remastered version free of charge!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, I worked pretty hard on this one.
this one caught me off guard when I first listened to it. 0:48 through 1:00 is an absolute treat the way you started flowing with the instruments. I'm a huge fan of the technique.
1:45 through till about 2:12 falls a little flat for me cause the flow is a little repetitive (until you switch it up towards the end).
Funny and Dope lyrics at the same time. I would rerecord the verse from halfway through just so when your flow is hitting with the instruments, they sync up tightly (something I'm constantly struggling with myself).
Thanks a bunch. I'm always writing and recording. I'm currently trying to work on my vocal mastering and teaching myself to make my own beats. Slowly making my transition from a hobbyist to a new coming professional.
Thanks man, appreciate the feedback! Check out my soundcloud page @ www.soundcloud.com/itsxseven for more. Got a new track coming up too, just need to schedule time to record it.
