thanx again Paul I had a blast making this track when I first heard it I was taken by its rhythm and the chords on it. I was like yo I can make something funky with this and this was the result. you have a couple of other ones that I really like also you have killer ideas man!

Very classy beat, my only complaint is I can't DL it! Nice melody, crisp sounds...if I had 2 b critical, u need 2 change up tha flow more often to rid the track of repetitiveness.

thanx paul that guitar sample had so much feel to it. and I wanted it to sound really old school I also added some extra guitar sounds that I played to fill out the chords and put a lil flanger on them to give it more stereo presence

thanx man I appreciate you and yes it is live talkbox I use a rocktron banshee paired with an alesis micron midi'd to my Yamaha mo6 ( the micron has a funny pitch wheel and mod set up ) for the sound source and the patch I use is called hood bass and since the banshee has a built in driver all I had to do was mic myself and add efx. around here in my town im known for making old skool jams like this im one of those cats that back in the day I didn't have the equip to do the music that was swimming around in my head in the style of the music I came up back then. so now that I have stuff to record with ive been making trks like that since im literally stuck in the 70's and 80's

dude very funky track. sounds great almost like a chromeo song, but with a totally late 70's feel to it
kazual
kazual replied 5th Jan 2014 - 11 years ago
thanx man and I love chromeo a lot of my friends say that when they hear my stuff some of it reminds them of chromeo. ive been trying to emulate the sound of the 70's for years and I believe its all in the drum sounds you choose first like deep warm sounding snares and old sounding synth patches and just paying attn. to how they played stuff back then etc. I really appreciate your comment

on a cameo styled track by kazual
Very Nice track, Truly a Cameo, sound. It's something how back in the day "Every Band" had it's on sound and when you heard their music you knew who it was. Today I just can't get there. Thanks for the memories.

thanx for the comment and im glad I took ya back I grew up around a lot of funk and funk musicians and we have a few famous folks from my city one being bass player Aaron mills who is the bassist for cameo and as ive mentioned his son is the bass player for my band. I did everything live on track no sequencing except the drums bass&guitar; are all live I recorded this about 10 years ago on a fostex fs160 which I still have

Nice Track, Love the mix and the arrangement is on point. You put together a true 80's Club Track. "Sweet"

thanx I appreciate your feedback!! as far as the mix goes thanx again cause I do what a lot of engineers say is a no no I mix with the onboard efx built into my keyboards and I only separate my snare and kick to separate tracks the hats and percussion are a 2 trk stereo mix same with the keys my mo6 is a 2 trk mix and my mo phatt is a 2 track mix solos are also the same way I just make sure that my efx match up and ill add an effect to the snare separately. the reason is I use a Tascam 2488 I cant afford a computer to do my music yet so I have work with what I have
