Although I can't find much resemblance (well, maybe a little bit in the chorus and the title itself)I must say I used to listen to Ultravox quite alot in the past. I remember beautiful "Vienna" and the long intro to "Visions In Blue" is still one of the most memorable favourites of mine...here it is...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpkasPwAtrQ
I'm glad you like it!:^^... What kind of project you have in mind? Maybe you can send me some more information in a private message, or even here if you like it. We can talk about it.:)
I'm really enjoying listening to this collaborative effort! Ed is a fantastic musician, and I see that you are as well! This is a really relaxing journey you're taking me on, so thank you for that! I'd like to play this on my show on loopradio.net if that's okay? Very much a fave! Thanks for the DL!
As far as I'm concerned you are most welcome to play this on your radio show and I'm 100% sure Ed would have no objections either, so I can guarantee you a big YES from both of us...afterall this is a big honour!...also many thanks for positive feedback...much appreciated!
Wish you lots of fun with your radio show___Orlando
Listening ti this, I feel even more encouraged to get my act together and produce my own songs - swamped in raw material and a pestering brother wit his Takamine wanting to start composing.
This peace is very mellow and reminds me a lot of Chris Rea - perfect beach chillin' music - well done mate!
First of all, Slovenija is my family's greatest country...next summer we go to take a holiday in your fabulous nation...:-) we love the nature, the safety and the calm mood over there and not just the people's friendliness...we love SLOVENIJA...
that was the intro...but I can't say more from that song which is simply the best for me in this site, nowadays...sad but hopeful...thanx for sharing with us, hope all is well, Danke
I've been missing you lately (I hope all is well)!
Yeah...we are neighbours, which is nice, so it seems proper to pay each other a visit from time to time.:) I've been in Hungary for holidays when I was about 14 years old. I remember beautiful Budapest and Balaton lake and one of the most hilarious moments I can remember...in a restaurant at Balaton I ordered "vienna steak" and the waiter who obviously wasn't familiar with english, nor german language, after some consultation with other personel, brought me a big onion on the plate..hahahha....I will never forget that.:)
Now back to music...don't bother if you can't find enough words for it. When you say that it's something the best for you, then this is a compliment par excellence which needs no further words. I feel honoured...
The intro reminded me of some sort of 80s synth funk.
It actually seems a little disconnected from intro number 2, which is the rather lovely acoustic guitar.
I like the woodblock-like snare substitute that comes in with the drums.
Then the strings are nice and swirling.
Bass is subtle but blends really well with the guitar and some of those gentle back-of-the-fingers pulls across the strings (my favourite aspect of the guitar playing).
3:26 I wasn't keen on the change in drums. Not sure why - maybe the transition just isn't quite smooth enough.
But great work overall containing a lot of beauty and grace.
Amazing work! The intro was capturing to me, for it was different. When everything comes together, a masterpiece happens. The bassline is very VERY gentle, which is a mystery to how that worked the way it did. This is a very soft and gentle track, which is incredible to me. Amazing work with the collab!
It's really nice to know that the intro grabbed your attention!
I always tend to do things a bit different and I really appreciate when people are positive about that.
Thanks alot for the great feedback!
Just to echo the others, there is nothing to critique here...this one is ready for a film!!! It has a Celtic feel to it, maybe because of the haunting violin.
Beautiful piano work throughout as well.
Everything is spot on.
God what a beautiful piece of music Orlando, from start to finish. Absolutely flawless like a 20ct. diamond.
Many thanks for your phenomenal and generous comment! You just have to read the newly written description to fully discover what is that Celtic feel all about!:)
Once again a beautiful piece of work my friend, piano, guitar and strings blending so well and from start to finish you had me hooked. Chill out at its very best and thanks for bringing a big smile to my face.
Very best wishes,
Mark/Larry!
It's really nice feeling for a musician when listeners are touched by the music, but moreso when this music even helps to cure their health problems...amazing!:)
Thx alot again for listening and generously commenting, but here's Ed's acoustic guitar in action...not mine (you can read the new description of a title).:)
indeed beautifull .
a romantic dance of guitar and violin .
just some where in the middle them changes in a strange way
for a while that disconnected me .
if i ignore that rough snap change , this was a jewel .
i love your musical flavour in this.
First of all many thanks for taking a listen and posting an overall positive comment!
About that disturbing moment...I'm sure you have in mind a short jazzy-like interplay which takes off at 2:23 and changes the tempo and mood a bit. Well, it all depends of a personal preference. I'm completely fine with it, cause it brings some contrast, dynamics and variety within the composition. But ofcourse I completely understand many listeners might feel detracted from enjoying the main flow of the music. Otherwise I still stand on the principle that art has to be bold (or even a bit off the wall sometimes) to broaden the boundaries.
All the best___Orlando
Hot dam....you lift everything up into the clouds...and while it may seem simple, those special touches you bring to the mix are just the ticket Orlando...love the violin of course...but the piano parts are a great touch (you should do more of that)...and the seashore effects at the intro & outro set the scene...I`m sitting here with a great big smile on my face...you are a thoughtful musician and a fine talent..You should be proud of tyhis one....I am......Ed (havent forgot about those tracks...just have to find time to finish things a bit & uncertain about what might work)
Haaa...Ed!! I was just packing myself to bed, when I noticed you came around....will talk to you on e-mail(not here).^^
But anyway..I have to say big thank you for your great feedback..you made my nighttime happy as it can get!:)

Hi Orlando.. I just listen through all your tracks and they were all fantastic, You should write film music cos all the tracks sounds just like film music.. Really great.. Keep up the good work..
Taking one of Ed's works and feeling the need to add to it. That's a bold move, my friend. You executed it well, and stuck a perfect landing. I believe we all benefit from this. You, Ed, and each of us that have had the pleasure of listening. Good work.
It wasn't just a need...it was like falling in love with a piece of art, followed by desire to make something out of that love. I'm glad that the result is pleasing to many people. Thx alot for your positive feedback...much appreciated:)
