You really brought this to life, brother! When I first listened to the sample on my phone speakers, I couldnt quite feel the vibe. But trusting your skills, I told you to send the STEMS, and once I finally heard it on the monitors, I was like, OMG, this is going to be lit. There goes my confession

Hey, My Shekari Smile is back! I found myself singing along to bits of this - pure joy and heartfelt love. Your songs bring such light and hope. What a dynamic trio you are and your friend's wife got my first name - it's not a particularly common name either, these days. That guitar and those harmonies - keep em comin! Kay(0s)

Hey Kay0s!

It means so much to know youre feeling the joy and love in the music, and it feels great to hear from you once again. John came up with this idea, and we pour a lot of heart into the track, so hearing that it resonates like this is incredible. Ill be sure to pass on your kind words to the rest of the team they'll be thrilled! And what a cool coincidence with your name! Just to clarify, that's John's mom, not his wife, though.

Thank you for all the encouragement, and rest assured weve got more harmonies and guitar magic coming your way!

Much love and gratitude,
Shekari

on The Light of My Soul by RichardShekari
Hello, my friend, this song is just as well done as the others Ive heard, with the same distinctive voice. I respect everyone who creates music - music's purpose is to move others, make them feel something that we, as the authors, might feel, and so, even if just for a few moments, brings us all closer together. kowing that, one can see how that might go a long way toward healing the world of some of its suffering. I have suffered my share, and I struggle everyday with a leg injury that has altered the course of my life, and sometimes its hard to maintain faith. But the Big Guy Above always sends something my way to comfort me when I need it most. Your last song was exactly that for me, so Im now thanking u properlyanyway, i sent u an email. Please keep ur music and its message coming, its important that we have folks like u among us. Thank u for sharing. - Aaron

I am sorry to hear about your struggles with your leg injury. Its inspiring to see how your faith remains strong through it all. I believe music can indeed help us feel closer to one another and, more importantly, to the One who guides us through lifes challenges. Hey, Richard,

This is such a sweet track with a NICE! beat. I have to say your voice is a gift from GOD without a doubt and singing your praises to him is a blessing for us all to hear and I say this not to give you a big head lol praise or validation from others is nice but it is from the most high that holds much more value and is most welcomed, Abba-Father yes indeed my friend this is another sweet, sweet song by you. Never stop Glorifying the most high, this song holds strength but also gives a kind of quiet peace to the soul...Just curious, How long have you been singing and making music?...You certainly have the knack for it and do it well, your production quality is TOP shelf work. Continue to keep up the brilliant! work. Salute soldier of GOD.
Faved!

My music journey started in the early 1990s when I joined the local choir in primary school, but I had to quit when my family left the church. In the late 1990s, I discovered Tupac Shakur and fell in love with rap music. I performed his songs at parties and eventually released a rap album, *Dirty Diamond*, with a friend, but we parted ways after some betrayal. During university, personal challenges drove me deeper into rap, where I expressed my anger at life, school, family, and God.

In 2010, something dangerous happened with my music career, and the Lord helped me reconsider my path. I took a break and started focusing on more positive vibes. By 2014, after a significant spiritual encounter, I shifted fully to singing, moving away from rap. Inspired by the Canadian band *Christ Our Life*, I began studying worship music. I also started producing music at home, investing in gear and learning through YouTube tutorials. My music now blends experiences from both the world and the church.

hello Richard, nice to meet you and your music.
so catchy and uplifting, this is good work my friend.
love that synth sound you bring in at 0:52 and also the one at 1:10. subtle but very effective.
the mix really speaks to me, i can tell every element is well considered and fits beautifully.
your vocals are very well recorded and mixed as well, it's a joy to listen to everything coming together.
you are an excellent singer, musician and engineer, my friend.
take care and all the best to you,
savino

RichardShekari replied 11th Oct 2024 - 1 year ago
Hi Savino,

Thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate your attention to detail; those synth sounds are definitely some of my favorites too. I might not know much about sound theory, but I trust my ears and embrace a lot of trial and error! I'm always learning and open to gaining more knowledge from people like you.

My vocal experience comes from singing in a small community choir from 1991 to 1996, and its been quite the journey since then. It means a lot to hear that the mix resonated with you. Your support truly inspires me to keep creating. Wishing you all the best!

Take care,
Richard

keep spreading the love guys, we are small in number but if we sing loud enough spreading love and your own true feelings people will here us whatever their/your belief, music is that love, we are lucky that we all support each other here, we are the real United Nations not the organisation they talk of, that has done nothing to stop wars, great work guys keep up the hard work

I really liked the acoustic guitar, that chord accompaniment that fills the space along with the beautiful voices I could hear. To me it is a very fresh listen, warm , with clear feelings and raw sounds. It is real, in opposition with what I do for example (synths and virtual synths, plugins, computers etc.). Excellent lyrics, they are for Jesus Christ after all.
Best wishes, Anthony.

RichardShekari replied 7th Oct 2024 - 1 year ago
Im glad you enjoyed the acoustic guitar, Anthony, and the overall vibe! John truly is magical with it; hes also skilled with the dobro, which I absolutely love. Theres something special about the warmth and authenticity of live instruments that really connects with listeners. Ill admit, Im more of a digital click-click guy myself, haha! I appreciate your perspective on the contrast between acoustic sounds and digital productionits fascinating how each approach brings its own unique feel to the music. And yes, the lyrics truly reflect deep feelings and a genuine message.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Hello and thank you for my morning smile! You two are so awesomely uplifitng. I love the track but an idea came into my head - it will probably sound random (but hey, I'm not called Kay0s for nothing lol)! I heard scope for a little rap halfway thru, a kinda 'Jesus is my man, he always hold my hand' kinda thing. Me and my imagination, huh. Keep on doin' the Shekari soothin. Something very special about what you do is you have a Sound that's instantly recognisable as Shekari. That IS something. Kudos to you and Hi 5. Kay0s

Hello, Kay0s! Thank you for your kind words! Were thrilled we could bring a smile to your morning. Your idea for a rap sounds amazing! Funny enough, Ive been a rapper all my life until around 2016, so I love hearing creative suggestions. That line about Jesus is my man, he always holds my hand definitely has a great vibe. Ill keep doing the Shekari thing, and I really appreciate your support and encouragementit means a lot! Hi 5 right back at you! Keep those imaginative ideas coming!

Absolutely! The 90s and early 2000s were the era when I started making music as a rapper, haha. It was a time filled with unique sounds, blending catchy beats with memorable vocals. Artists like 2Pac, the Lighthouse Family, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Mariah Carey, TLC, and the Backstreet Boys really defined that era.
Thanks for listening, Morash

You 2 vocalists harmonise so beautifully. I was reminded of the drum beats in devotional chants in songs such as "Jai Hanuman"by Tim Chalice and Chloe Goodchild. Your grattitude and inspiration shine through very brightly. Perfect guitar music. You sure hit those hight notes - wow! I feel there is maybe a blur between gospel, acapella and soul. Whatever its genre, it is very beautiful. Authentic feelings always shine through on your tracks - BTW, do you record most days? Blessings Kay0s

The reverend of Looperman :-) I like this uplifting song. This can happen when love and art comes together. The voice is mixed nicely and the claps giving the song a very nice room. IMHO talking about Jesus alone puts all the (political) religion by site and just focuses on his "teachings" and love. I like it. Welcome to the group. Cheers, Oli

well you've not failed here bro you can be the reverend of Looperman, and as you will surely know im a rapper and i can be controversial but thats the point of songs to make people talk, music brings people together, and unites, look at me and you here, music brought us together genre is for anoraks really, good music is good music irrelevant, i have found a ground that i enjoy to portray poverty inequality people taken advantage of racism, im older im wiser i despair at the wars and suffering i fear for my 4 grandchildren and also , Paul is a totally different person he is a community builder ask anyone here, dimestop is my alter ego, but everyone likes himbecause they all no the real me, it always about the show, you know that my friend

lol I can imagine, Rev. Richard, Looperman Parish haha aaah. Youre absolutely right, music is a powerful force that brings people together and sparks important conversations. Your focus on issues like poverty and inequality is crucial, and its great that youre using your platform to shed light on these topics.

I agree that genre can be limiting; what truly matters is the message and the connection we create. Its inspiring to see how you balance your alter ego with your authentic self. We will Keep doing what we do, hoping our passion shines through! Looking forward to more discussions and possible collaborations.
