This is just so beautiful. Reminds me of the great compositions like "Wichita Lineman" by songwriter Jimmy Web (as sung by Glenn Campbell).
To think back in those days many variety shows had a bevy of musicians who played hit songs live! What a treat to hear full orchestration on some of the biggest classics of the times.
Thank you so much, dear one. You nailed my influences: Los Angeles of the 1960's. They used to do such beautiful string arrangements back in the day. That whole aesthetic is sadly gone with the wind these days. In this particular case, I was thinking about a certain hit by Johnny Rivers...
Ay! I heard your piano loop on the Lebron James/Obama special that saluted the Graduating Class of 2020. Right before a commercial break in the first half they played your piano loop (that a rap group also used).
Since the special was shown on just about all the networks (Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc) there's probably a copy of it on Youtube (or will be soon)
This is truly lovely. Very melodic and emotive. Great job with your choice of chords and not getting too flashy. This is the kind of piece songwriters need as a good foundation for lyrics and lead melody.
Thank you for sharing your talent. My best to you.
About the copyright. If you sampled from a pre-recorded piece, then while the music may be free to use in the public domain, the record label and even the artist who played the piece still have a copyright on their performance.
Copyrights are granted on the music and performance in the USA at least.
Now, if you're saying you performed the piece that is a different matter. But a site owner must play it safe instead of dealing with cease and desist letters or being threatened with court action. I hope this helps and I do enjoy your loops.
Yes, nice, it was about Pachelbel’s famous chord progression. For example it occurs in „Coolio – C U When U Get There“. Everywhere on the internet is mentioned, that it isn’t respectively has never been protected. I used this for two loops by different ways (chords and arpeggios) and played it with my own instruments. The effects I have also chosen by myself. No problem from my point of view. Then I became blocked because of “Breach of Copyright”. I couldn’t understand it and was a little bit annoyed. But seemingly generally no strange content is required on this portal, no matter, when it was created.
What a delightfully inventive loop!
Your melodic note choices are spot on. You've hit a home run with this, as it's
a good foundation for a trap song with vocals.
I meant to say "upload them digitally to the copyright office" not download.
Saw your thread. Have patience, people will answer even if you have to bump it up a few days from now (just answer your own thread, that'll bump it up).
I'll give you info about artist organizations you can join (based on your home country) on your thread.
I listened to your whole catalogue of loops. You've got two loops that go together to form a song (an experienced producer or song writer will be able to hear which ones)
You're got a good ear for melody, which will benefit you greatly on your musical journey.
May I suggest you go to the forum section on Looperman and create a thread, that way you'll get a variety of responses from loopers who sell their samples.
But nah, with the type of loops you put up (strong melodies, recording level sounds good and clear) a dollar is too low imho.
Also, think about putting a copyright on any samples you intend to sell. I know in the USA we can put a whole group of songs together for a reasonable fee and download them digitally to the copyright office. Protect your song rights and learn your worth. Too many producers with good ears are taking free loops from here and not giving credit.
