Ok, and I used this track too on the same song. Whenever the song builds this is the track that takes over. I added a kick in between to help it drive more.

sorry for taking so long to reply,
yeah thats the real quality.

essentially its a heavy distorted kick passed through a lowpass ladder with a bit of resonance added.

you can do it in reason (the daw) by attaching a scream unit to your drum machine and using the LoFi filter preset and then messing around with the body settings

well, i thought this sounded pretty tight - i 'tweaked' it a lil in a couple spots and created a bass-line from it also - just a rough draft I was sportin' with really doin' my thing havin fun with the loops but mainly focused on experimenting with specific vocal blending/beat-poetry techniques....
