Eh probably; when you sample directly from old vinyl there is a tendency for the bass frequencies to thin out. This would contribute to a DnB feel. The pattern is boom bap though, at least according to the book I'm following. I'm a techno/trance guy so I'm only doing these loops as a learning exercise...

It's always really tricky to go back to the hardware and recreate things I record - I don't tend to save patches I just record whatever I'm doing. You could try pitching up or down three or five semitones and you'll get very close to what you want.

Thank you! The effect on this particular loop is the dub delay in Koala Sampler. It's quite a heavy-handed effect but it definitely has an interesting sound. The 909 clap benefits from external FX as there is only a volume knob for it in the actual hardware (RD-9)
