Description : So i got some new software (Magix 2014) and im loving it so far, mostly because it come with so many effects that help me master my vocals and other things. So with that, i made this. Im not perfect on the vocal mastering yet,(Mostly due to my really shitty headphones,) but i think it sounds a hell of a lot better than my latter projects.

This song kinda goes out the looperman community, those guys who are just at home, doing what i do, hoping one day that theyll be noticed and become bigger.

EYEDYE as i remember this is best instrumentation I've heared from U & beside music your tallented mentality for lyrix is wonderfull ...but i think that screaming line & generally your vocal execution can be improved easily & so fast if U pay attention a bit seriously about solfeggio rules & diafragm breathing (U can find it even in Oratory rules too).
to me , this EYEDEYE , right now is a better composer & lyricist than a singer ..and it's obviously a pity if U want to give these great tallented mind of lyrix & composition to be sung by any other singer but yourself ...
hope I've been able to express my idea finely & expressive for U man...keep it up.____B

I like your verse singing, the rhythm, and way you speed up and slow down and change tone sounds great. Sure there's some things wrong, but this is a pretty cool track. I don't know if you did the melody yourself as well, if so, even more amazing.
If you are bored, I uploaded some tracks in need of vocals.. :)

    Reply by LilEmolyte

the guitar was in the beginning was a loop from here, but when it became heavier, that was my own changes. The rest of the sounds also came from here with my mixing involved. Glad you enjoyed and i would love to provide vocals for you, just hmu with more details

Well done on the vocals, I don't know how people can do that throat growl singing but it an interesting change from the verse singing and was a little unexpected. On the mix end of things, I think with a little less compression you would hear more separation between the guitars, piano, vocals... especially when they are all playing loud. It's a great song idea and some nice changes, it's well written. Good luck with the new daw!

Well have listened to your previous work and you have a lot of talent, and I don't mean that lightly! ok with this one you have all the basics right, a really good into, great bridge at 1.07 and some really clear vocals, the downside is some of the transitions were a bit messy and the shouted vocals really did nothing to enhance the track at all.. I would have banged in some strong but softer chorus vocals instead..hey that's only my opinion. This is still a good track and well thought out. Good luck with your new Magix software, its brilliant gear and I cant wait to hear more from you.

    Best wishes,

OK - a lot of this works - has a certain drive to it that is interesting. Good intro - the verse kind of works although it should be clearer. I don't love the scream/roar chorus because I don't think the vibe/tone is that angry. The bridge is actually very good. Honestly the overall track has promise - I just don't think it needs to hit the level of distortion/destruction that comes through. Not really my genre so I may be missing something.

    Reply by LilEmolyte

The distortion that comes thru is due to some volume level issues, and you may be right that the overall tone may not be angry, but i think the chorus works well. a lot of hardcore and metal i listen to actually has very laid back and not very angry lyrics, but still has the screams to give it an edge.
Even though this isnt your genre, glad you still stopped by for a a listen :)

I will just be totally honest and direct.

It was a nice verse. It has a good melody and builds up to a chorus, I think it sounds good. You need to come up with a better chorus, because that just sounded like noise to me.

I think, the song has potential, if you make a nice chorus!

I will also suggest you research Dynamic Range. You can bring your music alive this way. It is very easy to do:

You have some really nice musical accompaniment for a Hardcore track EYEDYE...I like the concept and I think you are off to a good start here (well done on the lyrics too)..keep on doing it....If you like a little more reverb on your vocal (and thats a metter of personal taste)...set a long predelay on the reverb you are using after you have it close to where you want....the predelay sets the amount of time before the reverb kicks in, so vocal can be more distinct....well done...Ed

The deep screaming line that is under the main vocal line is a bit distracting and messes with the mix. Sounds like you took the main vocal and doubled it down an octave or two. Still, everything keeps sounding better!

    Reply by LilEmolyte

Hey evisma, i the deeper scream is actually a whole seperate recording of me, and may be a bit distracting dto the volume level issues, but im glad you think im making progress :) hope to hear from you again on future tracks

You clearly have the confidence in your voice where the scream-o is concerned. It's the melodic parts that need more. It comes across as if you're hesitating. Specifically, 1:28-1:42. Maybe if you added a little reverb so it wasn't so dry. I understand you want variation in the different vocal parts, but that spot is a little too dry, and the levels are higher than the rest. Which isn't anything I'm going to go into at this point. It's already been stated.
I agree with Johnny. A backing vocal track would be good in this one. It would bring more dimension and life to it.
It's clear that you're working hard to improve your music. You're doing a pretty good job. Keep it up.

    Take care.

    Reply by LilEmolyte

This song actually started out with a lot of reverb on the vocals, but to me it sounded to much, which is why i opted to have more dry. I may redo that section you said, maybe more confidence is what i need :)

Thanks for the advice and listen

I thought you've created something that has a lot of interest invested. The mixture between the varied vocal styles applied really stand out. Overall matches that way you put together the music and leaves a good impression of your message. I dig the ideas about this project. The heavier parts really do give a good kick. Mule kick, a third primary, very coo!

Agreed with what other members have said, just some fine tuning, could be a great performance. Keep going and don't give up what you do. Peace,Dave

Well it sounds pretty good, I wonder what the previous daw is that you used since you now go for magix

Some people already mentioned the master so I am not going to nag about that, but like LivingInSilence says this song could indeed benefit from having backup vocals, I think that would take this next level.

I don't know if you are going to edit this song for that, but for future songs it would be cool to hear

Guess I will keep an eye out for the future ones then ^^

Thanks for sharing and still great job on it

This is a massive improvement on the last piece of yours i listened to. The guitar playing is good, the vocals are pretty good & so are the lyrics.
But as already stated, the levels are way too loud. (remember, if the master is in the red you need to turn it down)
But well impressed with the improvement so keep it up. You'll nail it eventually and i don't think you're far off.
    Keep 'em coming

  30. LivingInSilence

While I like the composition and lyrics to this song, it could be mixed better. It's very "loud" and starts to deteriorate/go fuzzy in the choruses (e.g. 0:50-1:06), however that can be fixed quite easily. Also I feel like this would benefit from having backup vocals in some parts, like the second half of each verse for example, but that's just me.

Anyway, that aside, I really enjoyed this song! It's just a few small tweaks away from being something professional.

    Reply by LilEmolyte

ill go thru it again when i have good headphones to really fine tune in some stuff, and i might add some more vocals.

Thanks for stopping by and giving your input :)

Description : Got a new track here, which seems to fit with the hardcore aesthetic, what with the tempo, hard kicks, and driving bass. We'll see what others' will hear though. This song has been about 11 months in the making, and finally came together with the addition of some psycholotrystic field recordings. No evil spirits were harmed during the recording of this song. Features my circuit bent Tyco Hotkeyz, a track of modular synth, and some helpful controllerism. This is meant to be on dirty lofi side for the most part, so don't come complaining to me...!
