I am not musically inclined in the least. So I rely on the talents and generosity of others, like yourselves,to find audio clips of instruments to help me in creating "music" to go with my videos. Nothing is professional. They are usually videos of a family nature, or my annual haunt attraction, or demos I do on a few forums. I love creating music tracks from the clips I put together. I only wish I knew how to do what you guys do, so I could contribute to the pool.
Unfortunately, the only musical item I can play is a radio.
I use Magix Music Maker along with Audacity.
What I listen to and what I create are very different. I grew up with bands and artists like David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, and now additionally enjoy Modest Mouse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Switchfoot, Lit, and so many more. At Christmas my favorite music is by Trans Siberian Orchestra. I guess if I had to choose an influence it would be them. I love the combination of hard rock and orchestral music.
Most of the tracks I create are designed to be used with the videos of my Haunt Attraction each year. So they are usually either upbeat with a tribal tone, or creepy and dark. The lighter tracks I create for family oriented stuff are bright and airy, colorful, jazzy, and make you think of summer days.
I worked as a photographer before I had to "retire" for medical reasons. Now I am a hobbyist running a website and building animated props.
