I'm not a musician per se (as I can't read standard notation), although I've been playing "with" music all my life; mostly beating on a guitar and singing in front of a bunch of drunks, with me usually being the drunkest. Age has taught me the foolishness of that lifestyle and left me with the memories of the fun I had living it.
I got into MIDI around 15 years ago, but the possibilities and software were real limited back then (Cakewalk 3.0 on a 289 PC), so I drifted back out of it. Now, I just play around with samples and loops just for the pleasure of hearing things come together.
Guitar & keyboard.
Anything good.
Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon / Eagles - Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) / Bee Gees - Saturday Night Fever / Fleetwood Mac - Rumors / The Beatles - Abbey Road / Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms / Santana - Supernatural / Norah Jones - Come Away with Me / Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge over Troubled Water / Eric Clapton - Unplugged.
Oh yeah... Everything by James Taylor!
Country music, Beatles (all 1960s bands).
I worked in a small (monaural) music studio in the 1970s that taught me a lot about striving for perfection in music.
I suppose my father was my biggest musical influence.
"Other life"? ... This is it!
