Military vet. Been producing music digitally since about 2004.Born & raised in SoCal now livin' in Idaho.
Does turntablism count? I can't read music, I'd much rather just listen & feel the stuff I'm making rather than try to lay it out in some sort of logical order.
Right now Sony Acid 7, & FL Studio XXL 9, and Audacity. Also a huge library of bought & paid for samples.
at the moment just my laptop. I'm hoping to invest in a keyboard with midi controller & some other stuff. Remember, it's not the amount of equipment you use or how much it costs, it's what you do with it that counts.
None in particular at the moment. I have a very eclectic taste & right now I'm listening to a lot of stuff yet nothing is really wowing me over.
All of Mindless Self Indulgence's stuff. I still remember the first time I heard Bitches over a decade ago. I was like OMFG THIS IS AWESOME!
Which ever album the track Window Licker is on, by Aphex Twin, just an amazingly awesome song.
Licensed to Ill by the Beastie Boys.
Some other stuff I'm too lazy to list. My tastes vary.
Everything around me. I can't really narrow down one genre, one artist, etc. I can say Mindless Self Indulgence is a huge influence because I love their music & I am set on the mission to create my own genre like they did.
Noise, lots of noise.
But honestly I'm on a mission to effectively make the perfect perfect track sampling from the least compatible genres. I will blend rock, rap, industrial, & DnB. My music is a collage of sounds that I try to skillfully put together.
I used to fly around in helicopters, blow stuff up, & kill people when I was in the Army. Now I just work at a convenience store.
