I love writing and recording songs and loops help me do that.
Guitar, some keyboard, bass, some harmonica.
GarageBand. Have had it on my computer for years but only now really learning how to use it. As in the past two weeks.
Mac, one condenser mic
I am listening to some of what's popular these days, like what's on Spotify. Trying to see what the attraction is. Some rap, hiphop. Just trying to digest it. Listening to Jazz FM radio and some stuff on youtube: Hank Williams Sr., The Beach Boys, Dylan, Glenn Miller.
I am a sucker for greatest hits albums: Elton John, Bob Dylan, Chicago, James Taylor, and so on. Saw a movie recently on Netflix (The Intouchables) that featured a character who loved Earth, Wind and Fire. I agree. Had the orange/red covered EWF album when I was a teen, along with Commodores Greatest Hits.
I would say I grew up on folk and rock music, as well as some funk and Motown. My mom was a music teacher and had music playing in the house at all times, mostly on radio. I loved a lot of British music in the 1980s and '90s as well. I play guitar fairly well, mostly acoustic.
New Order, Earth Wind and Fire, and whatever comes out that sounds good to me at the time.
am a teacher of English as a Second Language to immigrants to Canada. Just supply teaching right now, so have days off, or mornings or afternoons off here and there so have time to record music. Used to work as an editor in the newspaper business.
