I'm new here and after spending a fair amount of time traveling through Europe, I am now back in the Pacific Northwest helping my father launch a publishing business while mining the archive of music I have been creating the past 13 years.
I'm on a few different platforms, but my favorite is my own website: http://www.memeshift.com - which has seen constant iterations over the years, but only holds a small fraction of my music.
Ableton Push, Korg Electribe EM1X, Alesis Micron, guitar, piano - most anything that can make a sound I can play.
Ableton 9.1 - been using since 1.5!
I try to be agnostic, but I've been really enjoying the Ableton Push (for it's elegance) and the Korg Electribe EM1X (for it's dead easy use).
And I've actually really liked Native Instrument Traktor Z1 because it's so portable and the knobs feel really nice on it.
Hank Williams, NPR Tiny Desk concerts + lots of techno, Erik Satie, blues and soul, Americana and zydeco - all of which I'd like to learn more about.
Ambient Works Vol II, In Sides, Hard Normal Daddy, Spokes - these started me off.
I'm inspired very much by my friends as well as people and their stories. I also appreciate melancholic/dissonant sounds that are not too aggressive. I dig bells, TB-303 sounds (who doesn't), marimbas, kalimbas. Lately, I've been obsessed with minor 7ths.
a recording of the places music takes me.
am a technographer and web developer. I enjoy making things that people use or enjoy.
