My name is Rob - I've been a musician since I was 13 - I started singing at 18. I've been in various bands since 1979 - mostly punk rock or new wave - but a country band as well. I love to write songs that get at the core of my emotions but I can just be goofy at times with lyrics too. I'm pretty old school and would prefer to work with a synthesizer than loops but it's fun to learn new techniques too.
drums, electronic drum pads, african percussion, harmonica, acoustic or electric guitar, Yamaha & Casio keyboards...learning loops now...
adobe audition - home PC - old school 'analog' equipment (how dare I, huh?) - oh, and sound effects from CD's too...
a home PC...I won't get too techie...
I listen to WAAAAAY too much music to narrow it down to even 10. I've been listening to lots of Giorgio Moroder - as early as his 70's 'moogy' "Son Of My Father"...also Edgar Winter Groups "Frankenstein"...I'm just on a 70's moog mood lately...
I have over 5,000 albums so that's really impossible to even have a top 10...but here's my attempt:
Krafterk-Autobahn
Pink Floyd-Dark Side Of The Moon
Kraftwerk-The Man Machine
Jean Michel Jarre-Oxygene
Soft Cell-(their first 3 official albums)
Ramones-Leave Home
ELP-Brain Salad Surgery
Pink Floyd-Wish You Were Here
...(to be continued)...
Soft Cell, David Bowie, Ramones, Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Brian Eno, Beck, and various 60's psychadelic groups as well as 60's bubblegum bands.
an eclectic blend - I try to cover a broad spectrum but create a feeling - not necessarily dance music (more thinking music). I like somber songs too.
