Love 80's metal, specifically the medolic style rock like Tesla, Dokken, White Lion. Also, enjoy the grunge genre including Cold, Staind, Decyfer Down, and Earshot. Always has to have a meolody to it though.
There are songs that are mid-tempo 80's rockers in the vein of Tesla/Dokken, then there are some acoustic ones, as well as some acoustic ones that have heavy grunge lines during the chorus (ala Staind).
