Woooo, this is lit. Edgy intro, great builds and killer drops. Not to mention the brutal sound design. Think I'll drop a like, repost and follow on Soundcloud.
Unique melodic dubstep is rather rare for me to find nowadays, so I am very glad you've posted this track here; really, this thing is beautiful! I love how the piano and vocals dance around the pads in the intro before giving way to a drop that goes hard, but stays true to the melodic theme. Its fantastically crafted and I can't wait to hear more.
Out of interest, what was the animation that inspired this? I'd love to see if this song plays well against the animation itself.
Serum is a fun synth to use, no? I think the biggest advantage to it is being able to see what your warp effects actually do to the waveform (that, and being able to modulate literally everything).
Regarding the track; I loved the mix of double and half time! Double time can really bring that much more energy on the drop; its a shame I don't see it as often (or perhaps thats just me). Switching it back down to half time after double time also reinforces that 'badass swagger', I find. As far as criticisms go (other than what Wobbin mentioned regarding loudness), I would have liked a little bit more from the middle frequencies in your growl at 0:55, which came off to me as a little bit dry. But thats pretty much it as far as I can hear.
Quick question for my own curiosity; which warp modes did you find yourself using most? Coming from Massive, I used the Bend modes a lot, but recently I've been finding a lot of enjoyment from the Asym and Mirror modes, as well as FM from Osc.
Nice grove dude, the hats on your drums carry the beat extremely well between each kick and snare. The chord progression is also great, keeping interest between sections, and I particularly loved the part where you bring in the strings at 3:17. That part reminded me a lot of Neonlight's Neon City.
Great track, keep producing like this and you'll probably make quite the fanbase if you haven't already.
Its been real great to see some innovation in this area of Looperman lately, and I think its safe to say that this is innovative; it shows a side of Dubstep that many are still unaware of and really showcases the versatility of this genre.
On top of this, your production of this track sounded ace. The elements sounded perfectly mixed to my ears, and has not needed to be compressed to shite in mastering.
• I couldn't really hear much in the way of sub bass, but I attributed that more to the fact that this is still a work in progress. But without a sub-bass the drop section lacks a bit of impact.
• As SadGhoster said, the drop does come in a tad suddenly, but you've already addressed that.
Still sounds great, can't wait for the final version.
Very interesting style you've got here; it sort of reminds me of Eptic, with some others thrown in for good measure.
Nice structure and sounds, kept me well away from boredom all the way through, and just by looking at your waveform and listening I can tell your mixing/mastering has polished this song off nicely. Good one!
Everything is clear, nothing is is mudding up anything else. Your wubs have an interesting structure and the track is interesting the whole way through.
Only thing I'd do is work a little on the ending; add something with a tail, like a reverb-y boom or something along those lines.
Thanks for the feedback buddy it's appreciated, also the ending cuts clean because it's the cut version I uploaded and not the complete one :) glad you enjoyed though.
Dayyyyum son.... Thats some real spooky Glitch Hop.Dubstep you have going there.
As far as I can tell, the mixing and levels are pretty much there, and the song remains interesting all the way though.
Some things I would do: Add some (more?) sub-bass for a bit more thickness, I can't hear/feel much at the moment (although I'm using 7" monitors, don't take my word for this...).
thanks for the feedback. There is a some sub bass in the track but I could bring it out more probably. Just my bass levels were already kind of high to begin with.
Well... for an hour's work that really is impressive, something like that I would probably end up spending a few days on. Just a couple of things I would've done, lowered the kick volume a bit and add a bit more high frequency to the snares somehow, but bearing in mind your time constraints it honestly doesn't matter much.
A few questions: How did you make/where did you get the drums for your tom roll? They happen to be the type of toms I'm looking for right now, so if you got these from a sample pack or something and could point me in the direction of said sample pack, that would be cool..
Secondly, do you plan on making a full track around this in the future? I feel as if this little section has a lot of potential to develop into one of the better tracks on the site.
About the tom rolls, I sampled and strecthed them a little bit from this song: Xtrullor - Reverie
And yes, as I said in the description, I pretend this drop to be in a remix, particularly in a remix for Twine - Killing Machine.
I could have mastered it better as you said, but that would have exceeded the hour :D When this remix is finished, I will master it better. Also, I didn't upload a song on Looperman for several months (just focused on my Soundcloud profile), and I'm thinking I could submit it here. Thanks again for your help!
Sounds great! I like the the chord sequence, sounds very melodic! One little issue though; this beat is more half-time 140 BPM, which I would've thought is more dubstep, no?
Thanks for the good feedback :) This remix i made in 140bpm and its like dubstep speed but it sounds more like Drumstep so its little confusing maybe :) but great if you still like it :D
Very well done! I especially enjoyed that lead stab sound, and everything worked well with everything else. My only critique is that I found the kick drum to be a little quiet during some parts, but otherwise, awesome!
Hot DAYUM son, so thats what you've been doing... it goes without saying that I am VERY impressed (in case you didn't notice the capitals)! It would be interesting to know what you used to make this. I'd take a poke at Massive, but then I assume that everyone better than me (most people) use massive.
Thanks for the comment) it turned out that I did not use high-quality samples that drums sound very good, but I promise the next track will sound a lot better now I'm working on a new track, and maybe I have a talent for music but now I have a big problem with mastering, while studying
Dude, thats a totally badass sound! Please extend it, I'd love to hear a 3-4 minute version!
Just a little bit of criticism, at that half time part near the end, the drums become a little quiet. I'd suggest putting a bit more volume on them there.
Considering that this isn't really your thing, I'd say its quite good! I've always thought that rock/metal was quite a good influence for dubstep.
The only criticism is that I think your tempo is a bit slow, normally dubstep is around the 140BPM mark, so I would've sped it up a bit, however that being said, I think the slower tempo actually works well for this. Well done!
That intro sequence really sold me! And your growls and screams were put perfectly to the beat, keep this up!
If I was being really picky, I'd say that the kick wasn't 'punchy' enough; I found it got drowned out by the growls after the drop a bit, however some of that is probably down to my (cheap) speakers. Still, looking forward to more!

My little bit of advice here would be to ease up on your compression and lower you volume, as you can hear the track ducking in places.
