The reversed synth sounds pretty cool. I like the minimal high end percussion as well. You don't necessarily need a soft clipper. You can just adjust the volumes and frequencies of the individual tracks. The clipping I hear is due to the kick and the bass not meshing well. Doom said it best. Quiet and equalized is better than loud and messy.
I can hear the work you put into the mix. It's very well rounded. The arpeggio in the background sounds great. The change at 1:20 is awesome. Very solid track.
Fantastic track. The guitar and keys sound great. The quality of your vocals caught me off guard. I definitely hear Pink Floyd. If you haven't already, you should listen to Porcupine Tree.
Hey Alexander, thanks for your comment. I am basically a guitar player and songwriter/ producer, I never been very enthousiastic about my vocals but it seems I seem to hide my shortcomings well enough.
I am now listening to Porcupine Tree, what a fantastic band! As I am always making music myself I don't have much time to listen to other musicians so many thanks for the tip!
The way it switches from reverse to normal is pretty cool. Try adding layers underneath to support the lead. A soft pad or reverby guitar could work pretty well.
Don't undersell yourself. This sounds pretty good. The instruments work very well together. You should expand it into a fuller track. 0:47 is begging for a development of the first section. Cool track. It has a lot of potential.
This is pretty great for a freestyle especially 0:48-1:11. I also get frustrated when I can't properly replicate improvisation. As for your question, I suggest buying what you know you'll use. I saw that you sold a violin and a guitar so maybe instruments wouldn't be the right choice. However, with $150 you should be able to get a hold of a lot of simple percussive instruments. Things like woodblocks, tambourines and shakers usually have very low starting prices.
I'd agree that you did a pretty good job of making future bass. The synth at 0:53 is very dominant, but also a little thin. I recommend either spreading the synth out or layering it with something light and lush. More breaks/volume cuts could help as well. I like the arpeggio that comes in at 1:17, but it gets buried under the chords. You could try switching the chords to a softer instrument so the arpeggio can breathe. I think you have a pretty good starting point to making a full track.
thank you HeathAlexander. I were not experted the track to come out like that. I were trying to teach my friend how she can actually make a song, cuz she's better than me at playing guitar and singing too. and she accepted the challenge. I made the beat at 3:00 a.M lmoa.
The lead keyboard sounds good. There's some dissonance between the bass and the rest of the track. It's not necessarily bad, just interesting. Cool track.
