on Pop Idol ft Tumbleweed by Darkreine

nice and valuable cooproduction...

I "bought" this song immediately I listened...

If it's a "what sound does it look like?" race... :-), because of your voice tune, I vote for Nick Cave :-)

Hats off, respect, DL, Danke

Darkreine replied 9th Apr 2013 - 13 years ago

Thank you for that, but the credit really should go to Ed for the inspiration of what came after. Sometimes a song will just fall out of you like this one did and that can only be down to the material you start with.

Respect and love back your way.

yeah, TV

you found a good drum sample, that's f...ing groovy, headbanging 100 %, Hendrix felt guitar play, man it's all right, LOVE it

Much respect, make your own "live" way

Danke

topvega replied 3rd Apr 2013 - 13 years ago

Hey danke, yeah man this drum loop kicks some ass. There is nothing I enjoy more than riffing over a ass kicking drum groove and letting the creative juices flow. The riffs will write them selves. :) I started out going for a Black Keys kinda vibe and just went from there. Thanks for checking it out and leaving those kind words.

on Hoopty by mikekeyz

yeah

this is like a bootleg B - sides, but somehow it works... :-)

at live, it could be an adrenaline bomb

the drummer is like a machine :-)

I'm sure I wouldn't let the concert hall if your band would

play... :-)

much respect for the plug-in and play mentality,

if I'm right...

Danke

mikekeyz replied 1st Apr 2013 - 13 years ago

There are now 5 members in the band... a drummer"real" being the most current but when the recording was done we used a drum machine but the rest of it is live persons.

Reminds me a bit to Anathema's latest works, specially to voice is nearly the same as the Cavanagh's guy...
Progressive, ear fillin melodies, what an acoustic guitar tune and mix...

on Blues Jazz Groove Track One by KingBallatore

hi King

short but knockin version :-)
I like it, if someone wanna use it it's a good, special basic theme...
like the retro feelin too...
but it's not in 6/8 timin ?
Cheers, Danke

KingBallatore replied 20th Mar 2013 - 13 years ago

It was tricky to get this to sounds right but I was going for a 6/8 drum grove like you guessed, but I wanted it to fit in a 4/4 time signature. You will hear that the snare hit is exactly on the 2 and 4 count. And the kick drum hit is on 1 and 3 with the last hit on the "4 and" count at the end of each measure. Now the ride hits where the most difficult. By making 3 hits per beat. I achieved this by placing the hits on the 1, "2 and", and "3 and" count. Though the third hit I dragged a bit for increased tension and a little style. I hoped this helped and thanks for comments Danke.

hello dave

kihasználom az alkalmat hogy elmondjam mennyire tetszik ez a szám, annak ellenére hogy nem jön be ez a stílus... :-)
k...a nagy ötlet volt Pataky hangját beépíteni,bármennyire is szánalmas :-) mostanság, azért nagy ikonja ő, rock - pop kultúránknak...

on romyharmony-human by acidic

It could be a brilliant song but in my opinion there are mixing problems...
at the first part there is no instrument just the drum :-) and the vocs
at the second the synth steps in and blows everything away...
I hope it's not frustrating you, it's just an opinion... (if it's concept, forget it...)
Danke
