This comment took me a while :-)
I really like the song, but like Kay0s writes, the vocals come late.
Remember: I am not a musician but a hobbyist so please take that into account with my comments.
It seems like the vocal verse fits less well than the chorus, the sung C# to C sounds a bit strange to my ears, different Keys?
Spice up the 1st and 2nd 8 bar part of the buildup:
I got your song to my pc, imported it into REAPER, then added a new track with FX delay (4x 1/2 note panning left/right and fading away) + Native Instruments VST Raum with initial preset, in that track I stretched a piece of vocals from the acapella up to 20 times from bar 27 to 41 (1 bar silence at the beginning) and used it as a drone with a long fade-in and -out, on top of that in the same track a few single words from the acapella verse, the delay runs down to bar 45. This gives the silent part some extra body and punch, everything quietly and that massive delay, like vocals from far far away, that as a preparation for the verse without disturbing the beauty and power of the 3rd 8 bar part of the buildup.
Result: The relative silence is broken and the singing, even if only fragments, starts earlier.
I hope I have not offended you with my comments but that they are helpful.
Sounds good, I like it.
But I assume it's the basis for a live DJ session where you mix in extra sounds/loops during the song, correct?
And sorry in advance if I misunderstood.
"Instrumental ... to complement the vocal ... preview". Well, in my opinion you created a beautiful track, the KISS principle came to mind; Keep it simple s..., no unnecessary complexity, the music complements the excellent vocals and vice versa, the result: A catchy track.
So compliments, well done, a new Fav for me :-)
