Be careful brothah. InI like dis tune a lot, but InI know that you used samples right offa dubplate. Looperman Admins don't know reggae enough to pick it out, but I can.
Looperman has a rather strict policy about using any samples that have not been pre approved. Again, I know Jamaica mostly don't have skisms about using riddim tracks over again, but sampling them right off the album can get you banned from here. I don't wann see than happen mek cuz yu have good irations in your music and that should be fostered.
I'd love to collab with you on some dubs. Hit me up with your ideas and thoughts.
THANKSfor your concern me bredrin but you know have to worry as all samples used are from purchased cd's either from loopmasters/sampleziode or other online sites o yeah primeloops as well .love to collab on a tune me fren. respect the riviera rockers.I also got some ridims from the dubmatix who have a cd out soon I got de demo's off the site. SO DON'T ACCUSE I & I and ANYONE else thinks i sample other dubsplates can think again. ME KNO DAM FOOL MAN ..so tell me which album you think i sampled from ,just as an interest.
Mek, down dem sample CDs. we can make real sounds on our own w/o them uses. ask for a skank and you'll get a skank. Let's make true 1 of a kind dubs together.
yeah MAN, I KNOW, cd's is cd's but we all have got to start somwhere so if is thats the way then let the music play, i man am no musician so I only do what feel right , only JAH know so if u want to collab brother lets dub it I.
Man please go and investigate. There are places where your loops clash so hard that the beat is indecipherable. Dubstep is for the most part, simplistic and not overdone. But, if you going to overload a track with sounds and even noises, they must be properly placed and timed as to make preoper sense.
You have the will power to advance the filth sound now, but look into beat creation along side bassline creation so as to get a groove happening in your tunes.
Thanks man, beats always are my weak point. I've taken your advice and looked into them more. Yeah you're right dubstep is simplistic, I just got a bit carried away on this track :/ (and others)
Cheers for the advice I always appreciate it more than "praise"

Play with your drone is the ONLY thing I'd have to offer up Sien. It impedes just slightly overhead on the string melody. -1,2db might do it. Maybe just my speaker setup too?
I doubt it to be your speaker setup Jahknow. You are absolutely correct. I will adjust in the next update. Listened today with my ears fresh and you hit that on the nail. Thanks for the positive words and very much appreciated observation.
Ahhhhhhh yes JAHKNOW DEF KNOW above in the description i sht u out but i put jahlove
i mean jahknow..lol peace brethren keep rinsing and dubbing those trippy dubs
Wow pretty sweet. A bouncey dub with a good butt kicker init. This is ruff! Like the overall rawness of the organ. Would love to do a remix of it if you have the tracks all seperated out. ;)
DUDE! We need to chat about this track a lil bit me thinks. A true contender for the LM release CD I have in mind. This is exactly what I'm talkin' bout. Frickin far out dub with plenty of one drop and a skank init. This is deep as deep gets...
not familiar with the dub guild, fill me in. i listened to your work. serious praise man, good strong spiritual music. please contact me about that spot on the cd. very interested for sure.
one love!
Dope! Loved it, but wanna re master this some. Bass could come up a few db alongside a sub send channel. Beautiful vocal overlay. I'd also say go back and re-sample the strings, try and get something real eerie outta that. Right now the bit rate sounds real stretched out and lo fi {not in a good way ;)
ANOTHER candidate for my skweee allstars mix. This has potential to go pure analog sounds and become cutting edge skweee! Dig that drum line, super simple grooves, basic sounds and an overplayed use of total funk. :D
This has all the basic elements musically to go full Skweee {which is cool as ever IMO}. Think about this:
Take the guitar lick out and replay it through a straight synth line, almost clavinet sounding plastic piano, Run voice through mega vocoder to make her sound baby-ish and robotic at the same time, then re assign the bassline to a true analog saw style gritty bass sound. It's prime broseph! :D
In other words I liked this and think you should go tell Looperman you want a skweee genre so's you and I can 8bit munch the crowd. LOL
I checked out your thread and i really like skwee - definitely could take a bit of inspiration from it. Especially that Eero Johannes (or whatever he is called)
Thanks for the headsup on an emerging genre and kind words
Faved this in the 1st 3 seconds. Why, cuz I peeped you long time ago, you asked the right questions then about 4x4 Uk Bassline, you had skills and here wee go. a club banger! This is badman! Loving that bassline!
My 1st suggestion if you wanted to add a real droppy dark bassline here. Use the intro chord structure as is, but at 32 bars change the scaling to something minor and diminished, then bring back the melodic harmonies in a 2nd breakdown + drop.
Not bad at all man. Here would be my constructive ideas, and I listen pretty stictly to reggae of all types. ;)
That is go back to this track and find a new beat that is old school 1 drop reggae. Make it sound old in it's method. This beat is real tite and hip hoppy, but the track would move into absolute chill if you could push the riddim track. 1 drop beat spaced way out with lot's of reverb on the snare and a phaser hi hat line.
Funny thing is I can tell you're working outta the DnB genre based on your sound selection and song construction and that's GOOD! You had such a demanding sound in your DnB tracks that dubstep fits your methods well.
This tune has some real interesting bass tones init fo sho. I'm saying yeah to that...
Variation is gonna be key for you bud. You're so all over the wobble rate that I have a hard time paying attention to the rest of the tune. Again I think some mastering on the mix is crucial here. Look in modulating that bassline. Wobbles are fun, but this is getting pretty redundant.
yea i love the wobble :D hmmm hard time well i now the wobble is a bit "overtaking" everything but its nice u can play it few times hear some els ... but ill check to modulating the bassline
Im gonna go head and say, you need to remaster this tune. Feels like it was normalized on output. Very little punch in the sounds. That wobble is getting kinda overdone. Sounds like you tried to implement a key change somewhere in the middle of the tune, but it kinda went sour or something. There is room for some serious dubbing still. Think layers above the bassline. A synth plunk every now and again or a slow rising ambient growl...
Pretty good beat and overall environment, but I think you could puch things further still... keep it tuff.
yea it feels normalized i found that 2 :) the wobble thiny is just a bit "my style" .. but i will check for the sour sound in it and remaster it and the synth i wus still working on it and alsow added a lil sub bass in it
With Massive you're well on you're way to making some nice dubstep basslines. I like the feelings in here. That intro is so sweet!!! Super usage of that mid freq bassline here Verge!
If I didn't know no better we may have a convergent DnB gone Dubstep producer in the midst! ;) this is way tight.
My tip on the mix. Subs through one more pas filter on a send channel to give it one more layer of ouch. Bring that synth line down just 1-2 db and bring the bass drum hit into that range just a hair. Man you did one hell of a mix here. Supere sick on the 2nd drop.
Have you heard any of the dubstep El-B or Zed Bias has done?

This tune is a prime candidate for a Skweee mix. Please read my thread in the forum on Why you should make skweee.

I don't listen to a whole lot of dubstep tbh, so even if I had heard any tracks by either of those artists, I wouldn't know. I'll go hunt some down.
