the rap vocals are a little slow and don't really add to your track...but your production quality is pretty damn good. look at the pop sensibility of your track if you're trying to put on live shows. do you have an audience you could reach? I'd say so. there is a huge EDM scene out there, more than there ever was.
If you're going to be commercial, you have to invest some money into it. Upgrade your quality with better VST's/hardware. Keep working on production quality. Put together a package: an image, a vibe, a tangible experience (live show with lights), have a set of songs that you can show to people and say "I will play this in your club and everyone will be stoked on it and they will come back." this track won't quite cut it in my humble opinion, but you're getting there. very very very close.
take advantage of that, play around with different drum structures. add builds, breaks. this is a bit too simple/underproduced of a track to be truly commercial, but it's definitely listenable. don't give up, often when it seems as if you're producing "good" but not "great" music is when people stop...push on through that test and you'll break into an area you never thought possible. that is where I am just going into now, and I'm "making it" finally after 6 years of hard hard work. I've lost so-called friends, and gained real friends and collaborators that will last me years, if not a lifetime.
Don't give up if you love doing it. Stay happy, stay driven, and do it big.
awesome production man. sounds real old school. LOVE the spacey tremelo sample in the back, really adds a lot to the ambience. dope flow too, one of the best i've heard from you. respect all around fam this is dope.
thanks matt. i put a lot of creative energy into this concept. missing in sanity is a damn good producer who's style was a perfect fit for the vibe. glad it's seeing some respect.
super fresh. i feel like you could have chopped that piano up to make it a little more of a staccato beat, but it's nice and smooth as it is. good work!
LOL at Mstokes comment. I'm a big fan of lucid dreaming. This is an interesting piece...seems to me to be quite chaotic and almost anxiety provoking, while lucid dreaming to me was always a very smooth, deep experience. also wish you had used some more of the lower frequencies.
all in all not what I was expecting to hear..not really my cup of tea, but I have incredible respect for your musicianship. the drums in this are brilliant as well as a lot of the sounds. reminds me a bit of flying lotus without the bass. keep doing what you do, you clearly have something good going for yourself.
I saw you were a crate digger and I knew I had to check this out. this is so fresh! nice sampling, cool arrangement. very very mellow feel, I could listen to this vibe all afternoon. we should work together on a track at somepoint if you're up for it, keep in touch!
I dont know if you caught my comment last night. but man after listening to your tracks and the stuff youve done on other people i would LOVE to work on something together. im gonna upload some more tracks here soon. so keep checkin in to see if anything hits your ear right. thanks for droppin a comment to. once again, your tracks are sick man
straight hip hop...you constantly inspire me man, even though we have different styles and are from different eras of rhyme you always bring it back to the roots with that dope vibe. much respect, see you when I get back out to CO!
I like this. definitely an eyes closed piece for me. you build the ambience very well in this, I get really immersed in the song and that's hard for me to do with this kind of music. definitely a cinematic piece. when it is silenced I hear my own voices, when it is not, I feel the music.
Great work. This is art. I will be keeping you in mind for further listening!
really diggin this piece dave. really high quality sound all around. I would definitely agree it has a lounge/club type feel. There might be a little latin flair in there too. enjoyed it the whole way through. much respect!
Hey mate..glad you enjoyed the groove!Jose Feliciano I ain't but I love the tone of nylon stringed guitar,it's got that warmth of timbre..cheers and thanks again for listening
this is amazing. great feel good vibe the whole time, awesome drums and sample usage. vox were on point. downloaded for many future listens...glad to see you back at it coney.
this is amazing. definitely some good production. hook is powerful. soulful. mmmmmmmmmhm that vocal runoff is a beauty. sounds almost like Drake, in the sense of commerciality and on the hook. rapping is decent...hook makes up for the simple flow. got a nice dirty south style. much respect
very nice beat man. just my two cents for improvement though: it could be a little more minimalistic for my taste, there are too many sounds at once. It's pretty epic but if you dropped the drum rolls and the high strings for the verses then you could potentially have a clearly recognizable intro verse, hook, verse, outtro. which you need.
seriously though, this is dope. the composition is there, you just need to arrange it.
I see what you mean here. I appreciate the comment and the constructive criticism. Good looks, maybe if you have some time check out some of my other tracks.
I like the vocal sample. Great drums. bass is on point. first rapper is fantastic. good levels. could be a little less "loopy" with the piano though. the chorus doesn't really POP out with amplitude or anything. might add a little more reverb to the vox. it gets a little repetitive after a couple minutes though. good effort though, it's no hit but it is definitely a solid hip hop tune. respect
Thanx for listening and for writing a review.
Yes,the beat was meant to be that way not too complex though everything was composed by me.I always like to play with drums and make them more unique.I did the beat earlier this year and it wasn't made for such a big collab track. It was a track for my friend/fellow artist MC Ben Evolent, the one that's on the 4th verse. But he only did one verse so I left the project for some time and I decided to continue it in December and bring it to another level with adding so many artists to it.Also the track is made to be an outro track for my upcoming mixtape with Chase and LP with Meic Hunt.I gotta agree that Ali(the first rapper) had a really good verse but aslo the recording was done the best because he had access to studio, that's why it stands out.I have to mention that other rappers were nor any bad. Both lyrically and flow-wise.Mariah's hook was great to me.Once again, thanx for listening
I love those guitars man. Real nice distortion. The intro hihats are perfect. One thing I would say is that you need a longer intro in general, the drop into the vox is a little rough and it doesn't quite 'hook' you as much as it could. Definitely a commercial level track though, to my years if you get the arrangement right this is radioworthy. Nice to hear some good rock here on the loop...not that it was ever missing :) oneluv
Listening. I think you should fade into the intro or build it up a little more, starting with percussion was a little harsh. This has a very 'you' feel to it, haha. Gritty electro pop almost. Nice transitions though. Bass is on point. I liked your glitching/stuttering of the lead synths. Piano with the ambient quirky noises in the back is nice. Keep up the good work man! Not something I would normally choose to listen to but this definitely has some soul in it. Respect.
I love the production in this man. Nice sub sounds spread left and right. This is the kinda tunes I love. bouts to light one up to this.............done! vizun always has that dope flow. I wish he'd vary it up a bit from song to song, most of the songs I hear have the same flow.
downloaded and faved...as expected, haha. probably your best production I've heard, deep lyricism, and dope flow.
Thanks for the kind words Fist. Glad you dig it dude. Nepaul mentioned something about the non-variation to Viz's flow too. I can kinda see what you guys are talking about. Specially after working a few pellas in a row of his. Sick none the less though.
Interesting remix. Very underground/jedi mind tricks almost sounding. of course nepaul and halfknot go hard as hell. nice guitar samping. defs goin in the favs man keep rockin
Good stuff. I agree with the last post though, I think you have a good voice and I wish it weren't hidden behind effects. nice pop track. I like that electronic keyboard sound you have that subtly comes in. very nice track much respect
Thez I know we didn't really finish up our last collab...but I would love to get on this with you. I would just spit a 16. I been listening to a lot of rhymesayers artists recently and this really fits what I want to do. I have a lot of thoughts I want to get down...if you're interested you got me philosofistmusic@gmail.com I swear I can finish this lol I got a lot more time now
definitely a nice piece man. good production, good overhead sounds. great d&b backing. faved no doubt...if you wanna collab hit me up with some beats and I'd be down to do something philosofistmusic@gmail.com
definitely good use with the drum loops. is that a double bass pedal I hear? mmmmmmmmmhhhmmmm....so much headbang! I love those reverby cymbals you drop at around :47. they add a really epic feel to it I think you should keep those for a bit longer. can't wait for the full song no doubt.

Lucid dreaming for me is actually quite erratic and often bizarre (damn my brain) despite my efforts to control the dreams lol
Many thanks for your kind words my friend.
