on Farewell My Lovely by Maj2
gorgeous track mate the melody is packed with feeling, you can feel the hurt. it touched me. my divorce was agony for both me and my ex, we both cried for weeks, 21 years together. it was the correct decision though, it was similar to a death in the family only there wasn't a body to mourn.

on a new guitar riff i wrote by rockoff
that's one cool guitar my friend, great sound, although you say keeping it simple just playing guitar do you not think it deserves a full track, i think it deserves it. would be fantastic with a great bass and solid drums, well thats what i think but its not mine :))
rockoff
rockoff replied 5th Oct 2022 - 3 years ago

on Nothin in the world i want more-Patricia Edwardss by midiman007
nice track bro, i would say more soft rock tho, not that genres mean anything really. Patricia is a fantastic vocalist and i like what you've done the vocal was i little crushed by the drum in the first part though but it comes through better soon after, nice job midiman
midiman007
midiman007 replied 27th Sep 2022 - 3 years ago
Yes Patricia is a great vocalist. She has contributed a lot to Looperman. I appreciate your nice comments. As far as the drums in the beginning I wanted to make the song different in the start.I think I should have listed it as blues not country. I don't thin it's soft rock. but like you said genres really don't matter.

on A Mystery It Seems by Spd2
great work mate love that intro the stick taps on the hat, the atmospheric music is brilliant, the melody gives the piece an air of light, but there is a dark mysterious undertone in there as well, very creative and cinematic as already mentioned there is a tubular bells feeling, good mix, crystal clear the chord/note changes are clever, good work INTER

on catch the wave by rockoff
nice work bro, love the fact your playing all the instruments and singing, maybe drop the volume on the music a little bit or up the vocal a little louder, would like to here that shine, the tune crushes it a little, only my opinion, but otherwise really good job, nice to see you about too, hope your good

on EP track 3 - The Rains of the Fall by BaoBou
underground indie bro your vocal is tight, sounds better, but its sitting in the right spot your git i love, the drums need a little bit more space that hat is dominant i wanna here the snare kick and cymbal crisper they crushing each other slightly, love the intro outro, its shows you care about the whole production, but i think the vox are bang on bro
BaoBou
BaoBou replied 20th Sep 2022 - 3 years ago
Haha yes, is this Indie? I guess not, but what is it? It's BaoBou, that's the main point... Genres are silly.
Hm yes, you're right about the hats, snare and cymbal; I'm also not happy with the kick. The thing is I'm trying to figure out my electronic drum kit; there are some different sounds, but I may also need to play around with the levels. And I will also discuss the rhythm(s) with my drum teacher tonight - let's see what comes out of that.
Thanks so much for listening, commenting and enjoying Paul. Much appreciated:)

happy up and coming young man, dont forget to bring us a birthday treat to share your day. your doing real well, Cru's reply is good advice, the hardest part IS production, it is the one thing that gives any track the scent of professionalism

on WRIST IS FLOODED by SANDYMBEATS
Lyle this is so fresh, i love trap the vocal is top and the end was funny, you should extend it i read your reply to BoaBou, if you reach a stand still and your searching for more just search for poems online about the subject your singing and just take a couple of lines from a few different ones, change the words to how you would actual say it and bingo you got yourself more verse's. its just another way of finding inspiration and sometimes it gives you such inspiration you find great words that you may never have considered, it works trust me. enjoyed this short piece bro

on EP track 2 - Body of a woman - Pablo Neruda by BaoBou
them drums are great mate, so crisp and clear, the volume is perfect, loved the hat before this, now i love it more i have advised others on the double tempo hat it just works for me treating it like a shaker or cabasa. i also forgot to mention first time the cymbal is on point too bro.
the volume of your voice also sounds better in the mix, im not sure whether you tweaked it down, im thinking maybe not, but bringing the drums up has given the vocal so much more balance, truthfully mate i think this sounds great now but as my first comment would really like to here you let go on the guitar everything else stopped. i would pay to watch you, as i would a couple of artists hear, super talent.
BaoBou
BaoBou replied 16th Sep 2022 - 3 years ago
Wow, that's a huge compliment Paul! Much appreciated and I'll let you know when I play Birmingham Arena ;)
Yeah the drums are better this way and indeed I adjusted the vocals; I also added some bongos and some more keys at the end, so it's all in all a richer version.
I like that you want to hear more guitar, but I'm trying not to be "that guy", you know, the guitar guy who plays 64 bars of solo everywhere :D

I do feel the track could be a bit longer, so I'll put it to rest for a bit and see again next week :)

Cheers mate and have an amazing weekend!

on EP track 2 - Body of a woman - Pablo Neruda by BaoBou
mate this is great for a first draft, im not a musician, i used to play drums but not for a while now, i do a bit of street drumming now and again still, you know neighbours hate drummers :)) so i cant give feedback on the instruments other than the drums really i think they are in the right place they are right in the middle of the mix not to loud and not to quiet if you get my drift you could mix the hat up and double tempo it, i think the guitar is gorgeous love the tone you should give us a bit of a solo of that alone im sure you could get this out to 3 and half mins, the vocal like me we both know we need to work on them but i want to here YOU and not some autotuned fx to fuck shit that has no resemblance to the artist i know, the lyrics are great, and i would never criticise a singer anyway, i know you'll tighten things up mate but for a first listen i enjoyed a few times tbf, so i could give you an honest opinion, keep up the great work mate, your respected within the community
BaoBou
BaoBou replied 16th Sep 2022 - 3 years ago
Oohh, great idea on double-timing the hats. The drums are definitely on the list of improvement points (with the lyrics and vocals), and that's something I will certainly take into account.
Yeah I'm never going to win the Great British Sing-off or something, but I do feel it's getting a bit better and I'm trying to find a teacher ;)
Thanks a lot Paul for listening and your always helpful comments!

on Optimum Pride by BeatzEazy0521
really nice cinematic sound scope bro, i enjoyed listening, personally i think it needs more volume, you maybe going for a quiet aspect angelic, almost church like but it needs to be louder so you can pick out the foleys in the background nothing wrong with what you got just a few more decibels would help, good job though. i introduced this as lo-fi but i could so easily have put cinematic, its not loud but i think its an example of were your volume needs to be
