on Rushes by spearcarrier
nice track very sweet too, you voice is nice but as mentioned needs fx to give it depth and warmth it also adds character.
to get the best results set yourself a processing chain and use bus channels, for vocals, reverbs, delays do everything on a separate channel and route each channel to its bus not the master, the buses are routed to the master.
if your unsure about bus channels YouTube it you'll be amazed how important it is, you have more control and your vocal sound will improve spearcarrier, try some EQ too cutting everything below 60hz and low end and dipping the high ends as it leaves.
it really is a case of practising and improving your engineering

on Get What You Need To Get feat HEMANZIFEST by TheMilkyMan
ok bro ive jumped on it but ive had to do some editing, (sic tho) to add length to your music, i needed the intro to roll and the drop at 0.19 and run through till 2.40, i dont really like doing it out of respect to the beatmaker, but i will drop you a link when i post, i promised you fire, you wont be disappointed Milky.

on S T U C K wHook - TRE24 by TRE24
love that intro bro, cut that quiet 1 sec start i would have that vocal start at 0.15, its a great hook/chorus, and then the spaces can be filled by a great vocal Angel :)) this feels like something she would relish and she's a great artist and a good friend here, the mix is set for someone to jump on, its top work bro im sure it will be used
TRE24
TRE24 replied 27th Mar 2024 - 1 year ago
Thx dimestop. I will throw the vocal in there and see how it goes. Maybe add some different effects to it and bump up the distortion.
Glad to here on the mix. I went with a few compressors that aren't in my regular rotation. I think they are my new favorites. I probably have 50 to 60 different compressors, hard to pick 1.
Thx sir

on Fortune Teller by spearcarrier
hi i listened to this last week, something must of distracted me because i never commented. your voice is really sweet and sits side by side with the uke (love the sound of that instrument) i agree in principal with most what is said, you state your trying to improve your engineering and mastering skills aren't we all :)
Manuela hits the nail on the head. if you make it studio or too studio it will take all away from the original and unique sound its almost live like raw and gritty. being a songwriter myself im impressed with your story telling, good content, well written lady.
i have learnt most of what i do now practising and being daring, loads of help feedback and critique too from our colleagues here in featured.
the second vocal doing a chorus would be good, maybe a male add a deeper accent or have a couple of lines repeated your voice just EQ different. just dont over engineer it as it will take away the charm spearcarrier. keep writing comics but keep writing songs too

on BCV BITCH GAME FT SLIMM by BCVProductions
bro some story, well done fighting your corner. that is a problem with some people, they greedy, want all the pie, i would never sell anything that i didn't do myself or without the express permission from the creator, not that i sell anything anyway :))) IP is important people need to understand that, fools think the stuff here's free, it isnt we own the copyright full stop. if its used for money i want my cut, i dont give a fuck who you are or how fucking big either.
if i were to sell anything i would want anyone involved to be rewarded too cos thats the type of guy i am, theft is rife in this business.
i dont share loops, i got some nice piano loops too, string stabs, cello, nice progressions and inverted notes 7ths 9ths 11ths etc but to many get robbed and with AI stem separators its a new ball game you can separate everything then you can change the snare the open hat for a closed hat or ride a piano to a synth you get what i mean, then pass it of as your own. producer are clever and resourceful mofos.
we have been linked for awhile too now bro, we will have to do something together but we'll do things properly although if its money making your thinking, you'll make sod all of my vox unless i buy ALL the stock or maybe Aldi could sign me for Christmas to give my CD away if you buy a turkey. i'd go for that tbf but probably get paid in sage and onion stuffing :))

Bro, it was so weird at one point I thought he might have a tumor or some illness causing him to lose his mind.
The "Shake so hard" reference is real. He started having tremors about a month after I met him and I noticed some really dark behavior that caused me to cut him from the project. There are serious allegations against him floating around the ville. It's all super weird tbh. anyhoo. Off he goes into jackass land and I'm still around. Got 2 shiny new tires as well just in time for rainy season :)
Moving on,
You have mad vocal styles!
I would like to collab with you at some point too. If you ever want to or want a singing hook dm me and we can connect.

We have Aldi in France. This could work :)

on BCV BITCH GAME FT SLIMM by BCVProductions
more glam but the arpeggiator changes the game to pop, you could switch it to indie too bro by dropping it and couple of easy changes tempo and drum. your lyrics, is it your voice? its bloody good. the content is great and delivered excellent, sort of happy go lucky dont give a f#ck fresh air vibe, nice work Slimm
BCVProductions
BCVProductions replied 25th Mar 2024 - 1 year ago
Thanks Dimestop.
The indie version was my preferred. I finished it and then went electronic to change things up and get it out of the door asap. Maybe I will post the indie glam version later. Mostly these are vehicles for the vocal.
That is my vocal and writings.
For the lyrics,
A former collaborator tried to IP block and promote the song as his own. I removed him from my project because he had unsettling allegations and behavior. To retaliate he planned to make a campaign on radio saying i threatened his life etc. In reality I had multiple recordings of him threatening to kill me with his brother, who is a policeman, as well as incriminating texts. I wrote this song while i was cleaning up his mess to keep my sanity.
He came by my studio and stabbed my truck tire. He stalked me. HE told my friends I was in danger, etc. He did everything he could to crush me. He threatened to report me to French authorities knowing it would imperil my immigration process. He contacted my girlfriend, harassed her and asked if I was beating her. It was about as weird as it could get. And he kept at it.
I shut his whole fng sht down about a week ago, but it took a toll on me. I had to call radio stations, DJs, bar owners and business partners to explain what was going on. I lost about a month of work from the nonsense and a lucrative distribution deal.
In about 5 days I should have full control of the IP again. Then I can can promote and sign with distribution.
The whole ordeal really affected me. I was about 600 hrs into the project when he did this. Writing Bitch Game and smoking like a chimney kept me from melting down.
Art is a mf sometimes, but that's ok :)

It was a much needed break. My old intel imac still works as a stand alone music production machine but all the new standards for internet were past my comp's ability to keep up. Starting fresh is good, keeps the mind attentive and updated.

Thanks Paul!

on superflies redux by xstokes
Mike i really like the harshness of the track the guitar distortion, the tape cassette vibe too there is pain in there and its clearly expressed, maybe the intro of the guitar could be faded in to not dominate the vox and i would definitely repeat the vox again going into the end transition but that's just my personal flava, its not even a critique, if we were all the same music would be shite, you have your own identity here mate others only wish they could achieve it

hiya Paul, i dig what you mean on structuring a tune, i’ve been messing about with this too long tho and the only way to be shut of it was to use as little deliberation as possible. brother i appreciate your ears and thoughts, yer a gem.
