a v effective mix - makes me think of malik's 'thin red line' in terms of cinematic juxtaposition - nature/beauty vs war/horror - wrenching, much respect
That's what's up. What I really dig about the track is the contrast. How much can be symbolized and balanced depends the listener. But most of all... I think it all came together kind of cool.
Thank you, Michael, for your encouraging words. I might try to translate it and record it again. I appreciate you stopping by and listening. You faved it! Thanks againg.

i really love both mixes - each has its own quality - the first with a kinda ruffy flow that mirrored the tides - and this with a more insular and woody sound = i think interesting, complimentary perspectives that both add dimension to the song - a testament to how good the song itself is - all more appreciation to you guys!
This new mix is like a wine tasting, which make you appreciate all the flavors, aromas and even texture. Can only make a music ethnologist like Wayne ... Small changes are important.
Thanx for the great review of my track looper friend!
Glad that you could get into the track i made its a mission accomplished for me as i wanted this track to show my warmer side.
Thanx for listening looper friend!
this works even better on a good day! - hey bro fyi check yr levels because it is not loud - did something happening during rendering or am i just not getting it? i've had plenty of times where a rendered track sounded fine on my local drive but the uploaded instances did not match up.

Updated = Yr response does reset my ears, a different listening filter = a better understating of an artists intent can sometimes really enhance the listener's experience.
It's a very fine line with this one. Put the levels up too high and you get a very nasty distortion occurring which is not too pleasant on the ear. So I rolled with very heavy compression to avoid ripping amplifiers and speakers apart. That's a pretty heavy bassline in there. When I'm mixing I try to take account of the equipment that the track is likely to be played on. And come up with a fair compromise that sounds equally good on a stereo that you might play in a kitchen while you're doing stuff or a larger system when you really want to kick it and annoy the neighbours. I don't think I'll get too far in this business if I'm destroying equipment. I'm glad that you enjoyed the track and thank you for listening :)
really great track - a very heady mix of darkness and light - the tension between the lyric and the musics is perfect. a truly wonderful collab - much love and appreciation you guys!
Yes, Michael, this song Wayne has improved. A simple song, but with wonderful arrangements. But you already know these things. Thanks, man.
On two previous occasions we had tried a partnership, but our boat does not reach any port. The third time was the good.
really captures the feel of trying to sleep when yr sad and pissed off - when tomorrow only offers a return to the same fractures of today. great lyric, vox, and composition - all respect.
lmfao! oh wow tired, sad and pissed off, WAS exactly how i was feeling..... thats funny. thanks for the compliment tho im probably gon do it over. thanx again. :)
really digging the sounds, transformations, and arrangement - much respect.
'cause i'm a knucklehead i would add some additional light treatments to the shaker/perc to give em a more embedded sound - but i do love as is.
Well, i gotta echo IWE - you guys really have nailed this - a rich mix - very soulful, jazzy, and i hope i'm not the only one who finds a great off-the-wall sense of humor and playfulness in this as well - really rewarding music- hat's off, gents
Hey Mike,Thank you for the comments!I'm so glad you heard the fun in this tune..it was very fun to play on SpellJammers track and when Slap joined in the fun level jumped up quite a bit!
hello angela, i don't hear this as busy at all - it's pathologically insular - 'course that's an external take on things - the 3.20 events really work - like a sleepwalker waking in a crowded subway station - it's alarming but not jarring, flows with the submerged vibe of the track. much respect
V - all the beads form a perfect flower - the one in your heart you carry in your hand.
A track that restores confidence - the cost of walking is worth the price. Big heart and a sound to match it.
Looking for more of the Innatatú project
Thanks my friend, you really glad my heart. Because the lyrics are born to be heard. And you not only understand them but that you appreciate them.
I'm in a rush when writing, and I have made about 8 songs of this project. I do not know if all will end well (I'm on the finishing touches), but soon there will be another ...
hey Jamie - what a lovely chord progression from SJ you're working with - gently bluesy, a real swing in this. very improv sounding - yr chops and voice selections are great - i'm with Wayne - can't wait to hear further developments!
Hi Gord - man i love Chris' interpretation of yr songs - i'll never stop doing the inner kareoke thing, though!
That said, this has so much resonance - soul and terrible sadness - and Justin is so present here, as are you my friend.
It's a courageous and humane song. My thanks and respect to you and Chris.
Thanks so much my friend. I think Chuck gets my lyrics and thoughts very much and really does a nice job singing my tracks. They're always a little different then I sing in my head too, but he always makes them better then me as the writer of the songs could imagine,(if that makes sense).
I wrote this song the next day after, a day of drinking with Justin. He was only back 2 weeks from Iraq after 15 months. The lyrics are my thoughts after that day. I'm sending this track to Justin's brother inlaw who (if he feels it's ok) will forward it to Justin and his wife.
Take care and thanks my good friend.
Gord
as always, i love the clarity you manage from really densely composed tracks - and the way this develops from what is obviously VST to a more ambiguous and organic sound is subtle and really effective - great, propulsive, imagistic music - beauty.
Hello again, MStokes,
A nice Review from you again,I really must get off my butt and do more reviewing myself. My trouble is ,I get tied up in my music and time goes nowhere, like they say, when you are enjoying yourself, you forget everything else, but I really do appreciate your comments.
Many Thanks.
