standing in an existential cistern - a man outside of himself with the events of his life pouring down over him - why is he not in the same exile as the one who never returned -
hard cold cascading - a sound to match - brilliant on all levels my friend!!
He awoke one morning in a republic the next day he was involved in a civil war. After three years, is in a refugee camp. Go back to fight in World War II, believing that will also liberate their country from fascism ... but that never happened. After waiting 40 years looks like it enters into a democracy in which the head of state is a king made by the dictator ... No, he never returned.
Thanks my friend for your review.
hello Bamboo - really digging this - man it's be great to see the vox added to the lyrics section - i mean i get tha message but i'd appreciate the nuance too - respect
taking the title as theme - a blank canvas in a blank room begins showing pencil lines that become increasingly portrait-like - at the same time the room fades away revealing layers of sea, sand, grass, trees, sky and finally stars where the completed portrait floats among the distant points of light in the darkness of space - well, that's just one way of listening to it i guess - respect
There is a sadness there. I guess that may have come from me given I was feeling it while making this for a friend who passed over. I fantasized about having the lady sit behind me as I worked on this. I thought, how cool it would be if she were present listening to the creation process. I've done the same with other songs with folks like John Lennon and Freddy Mercury. Wouldn't that be a rush if you had such support from the other side?
Thank you man. I really value and devour your review. It is really quite cathartic to receive such wonderful comments from people who know what they're talking about. Thank you again. Please stay in touch!
hello, Allistar - hellbent + heartbroken this is indeed - as Dylan Thomas says 'Do not go gentle into that good night.'
Atmospheric + affective music - very dark yet uplifting cause the perf is right on - much respect
a dream of truth - reflective and tessellated lyric/vox/musics - this is an ocean contained in one expanding drop - an amazing and utterly beautiful collab
Thank you my friend. Warm rhythms that make up Paul is tremendously inspiring to lyrics. A luxury to work with these two partners.
I have great fortune to work with you all.
hello, Elaine - the bookending sound design and the music setting for these lyrics is terrific - fav part = that brief cocoon of waltz-time, just a great detail in a heavy track that never sounds ponderous - sad energies and light touches abound - much much respect
Some loops where in the trunk at the attic covered with dust waiting for the day to be play until I find the way how to assemble this whit some I made with my guitar
