soul, man - perf + production = great songwriting - uplifting in the way only downbeat music can be - that's right on chemistry, bro - many thanks for your music
Elaine - nevermind genre - this is not playing it safe - this has so much heart and guts and soul - and life - like a 'specimen' butterfly popping off the pins a fool put in her wings as if that could ever stop her from flying - beauty + respect
ok i listened to the NOTLD 18Aug2011 tracks as a set so the fav/comments apply to all - this is insistent uncompromising and punchy music - it's got a defiant aspect but at the same time yr the one pulling up the fallen and helping the poor drunk home - and that sensibility bleeds through these tracks - a varied palette but it does create a damn cool and unified persona. Total respect.
thank you very much. i couldn't upload the whole album because its 5 songs per week but if you would like to listen to the whole album in its entirety
just click this link for the download :D
that's a good question that needs a little more definition - i mean, is there more you're thinking of adding to this particular track? because if so heck yes i'd love to hear it.
this incarnation is a total beaut - seamless and wonderful - respect
Jamie, i have always wanted to hear you in a setting like this - man, it's so in the pocket! please up the sound levels, though!
all respects to team jfw
Z- hello ya old angel! this is arguably yr best yet - i think 'thrilling' would be putting it pretty modestly.
production-wise, every sound is surging and clear - oceanic.
composition-wise, your spacier sounds have never sounded better than coupled with the really surprising and effective big beats. and them beats have never been put to better service - they are classic but utterly brand new.
now that outro is a thing unto itself - a complex and penetrating blade of pure sound.
One of your true masterpieces, and that's sayin a lot - beauty and respect my friend
hey what a wonderful review thanks ever so much you always seem to understand and read where im coming from i so appriciate what you have to say.
as always much respect

ah - how to be worn and shining new - low-key and totally rocking out - music for the parts of the day when the sun is low in the sky and the moon pulls you outside the red skies - strange tidal drumming that really works - really beautiful and evocative music
respect mosta the above production comments - but i must add i am totally loving this singular approach to music - sometimes i think industrial gets a little to clinical for its own good - and this is hot-blooded. respect
what a gem - seriously there is a sense of fun and wonder here that is matched by the playing - transporting to a place we might find nearby if we're good enough to go there - many thanks for yr music
ah brother i am perpetually in awe of the way yr lyrics fly as fast and sure as yr fingers - amazing and vital rock n roll - f*ck the stock markets - i invest a zillion favs
Thanks Michael. I guess adlibing vocals while recording is my way of "writing" lyrics. When I do it I find the words on the fly. In this tune I've got to admit I redid the chorus after the first take and built it around the second take. The vocals is a starting point so Jim can write new lyrics, that version will be published on the TransatlanticExp page later.
hey, Jamie - your new mix is totally in the spirit - totally present-tense - i really like the bio-film gonzo and this will accompany it upon future viewings.
i love a lot of Hunter's writing and in particular this made me think of 'the curse of lono' - a Hawaiian odyssey that's hard to find but arguably the best post-loathing collab between thompson and steadman - worth searching for!
so you see as i am now on my fourth consecutive listen you have very effectively turned my mind toward yr subject.
triple favs, my friend!
Allen + Twanna - this is such a great twinning and entwining collab - soulful blue and rocking - breaks on through and then some - guts and beauty is one helluva combo here - inspired, inspiring, and very dam fine - powerful music
Thank you Michael, and I would include you in the list of artists like Twanna that I have worked with here on the Loop that have inspired me beyond what I would have done on my own.
