hey spivkurl, was reviewing a koukotso track and there was a mention of this track in amongst the reviews so i thought i'd drop by and have a listen.
Great title for a start and i feel it is suited to the music, not huge on trance music but this has that something extra special which is your style, really has that old capcom computer sound that i love which shouts MIDI.
Hey thanks for stopping by! I know what you mean about trance music, I can't seem to make the standard style of trance... I think this is the closest I can get. No matter what I do I end up with something of my style, not something genre specific. Either way, I'm glad you could get into this one! I appreciate you reviews!
you had fun making it and i enjoyed listening very nice breakbeat, glitch style beats and complimentary additions make this a good listen, downloaded cheers.
excellent track, liking the unique dub style and classic eastern sound on this one, really feeling those hats bind and bring together the instruments which are trying to pull away.
Explorations in music is the order of the day, another for the faves.cheers.
I love the sound of instruments that are non-traditional to the West, as also those here that tend to be obscure. Maybe it's the Psychedelic sensibility that's there. The hats - definitely the unifier here, in an attempt to subvert World Music and introduce some spirit. Thanks for the review!
Great work here Avonaco, the beats, arpeggio style synth and atmospheric sounds all compliment the superb vocals, great overall production and love the underground style. downloaded and faved.thanks.
Nice and catchy, this track, production techniques coming to the front, i like how you only use your own loops, best way to show your skills. good job.peace.
good fresh sounds, got a chilled out hip hop vibe going with a hint of 80's soundtrack, nice work. always wanted a moog with a built in vocoder, maybe one day eh? cheers.
You really do have your own style, it's deliberate, chaos let out of the bottle, this sort of material is prone to go over a lot of peoples heads. Love the hypnotic states you create thru your music.cheers.
Man, looking at the latest rounds of reviews, I'm beginning to think there's an audience for my Thang. Stillness in Chaos. All is Well. It's an old tradition wearing the garments of the modern - altered states through musical experience. I'm really beginning to love(?) the tech that's now at our disposal. Thanks for the listen and review! Cheers!
Alot of people may not know this but the Hippo has killed more people in Africa than any other wild animal, and this is a killer track..enjoyed your music tonight..thanks.
I'm one of those that knows this, and I'm glad to shared it for those who read the reviews! Don't know if you read through any that reviewed before you - this song is actually inspired by my own experience with an angry herd on the Benue River in the north west border of Cameroon when I was 9 years old. My dad and I got chased several hundred yards down the river bank and narrowly escaped in a `66 Ford Bronco. I think I did a fairly good job of translating that experience into an intense sound scape. Thanks for the fave!
sorry for pestering with another review here, but i would love to download your music, infact i would gladly purchase, are you on any other forums which will make this possible?.
Far from being a pest, I'd say this is about the greatest compliment you could give. Actually 9 of the songs here are available on my Totems from the Diaspora album for sale on all major digital distribution sites (iTunes, Napster, mp3, rebeat, etc.) and it's a trip seeing it for sale on Japanese sites. I'll shoot you an email with some details. Thanks and cheers!
Man love the picture of this, makes me want to draw the poison from the back off a toad and go on futuristic hunt, i am writing this review as i listen.....its on the verge of genius, you got big talent would love to hear this complimented with images, fine work.
Yeah, some sort of CGI experience behind this would be amazing. I can see it it my head: stepping through the boundary of the fairy ring and landing in the space of Frog. Strobes and tracers galore. Thanks for the listen and review!
Caught this on the feature box thought i'd give it a listen glad i did, very raw, like to see what is in that toy box of yours lol
keep doing what you do best, inspiring, peace.
Hey friend, I'm glad you found this one! I kept it featured for a reason, as it's one of my faves. There is a picture of the toy I got these sounds from in my gallery.
Thank you very much for listening and for the kind review!
oh yes!! thought i'd give a listen while i was on your page, wasn't expecting this tho, really good, the acapella is perfect for this, has your signature all over it, like the panning and delay effects and the portamento..good job.
Had to add, like the title aswell, one of my favourite films, peace.
Got visions of a solitary hooded character, maybe a hero of some sorts...waiting for something to happen possibly the next scene, reading your other reviews, would be interesting to hear the longer version for this taster has me wanting more.
Very enjoyable track, top notch production, very pro, feel the dub influence riding on an astral belt, like the late bass and synth all effective, worthy of a download if the option was there.
Thanks for the listen and review Salook! This was the last track I made for the album of the same name, and I actually made over a dozen different drafts of it before I found what worked for me. I love Ethnic music, but I find a lot of World Music tracks are rather - mediocre? I really wanted to avoid that pitfall with this one, and think I did. Sound like you're in agreement, which certainly makes me feel good about this one. Thanks!
Thought i'd have a listen while i was here, nice groove, some nutty key work also, you defo got your own signature to the music you make, cheeky ending aswell lol.
Cheeky...LOL LOL, you sir have made my day, nay, my whole week. Thank you very much for the review, it pleases me greatly that someone saw that and understood :D
