haha, very cool ebb and flow! beautiful electro/prog fusion — the drums and sequencer add a nice bit of solidity to the track while the chiming mallets float on the waves. excellent stuff!
So good to hear you again! This is so sunny and full of real uplift, a real gift in these troubled days. That is really appreciated! I will be lookin for that remix too!
i’m unfamiliar w the original, so maybe you can consider this a blindfold test of sorts. it’s a solid tune, made better by the quality of the playing and careful sound selection. i’m attracted by the fact that while it’s a very polished production, it’s not airbrushed beyond having any personality, in fact i thought it was bursting with personality. enjoyed it very much!
Thanks for the encouragment, Xstokes. I was unfamiliar with the original as well. It really is a great example of really well crafted dance track. I think a great deal of thought and skill went into making it.
The original original, by Massive Attack is pretty unique.
There's another cover version by a group called "Hooverphonic" which I think is amazing. Even more symphonic.
man, this is some voodoo — terrifically warped music, the sounds that slip around the ubiquitous lead are insane, and the drumming is the best tribalien beating i’ve heard for ages.
xstokes... WAH FKG HELL MATE long time no hear mate, thanks for the feed back, appreciated. shit, we have been around forever on here. I,More doing videography and film making and shit.
hey bro! i love the mental vibe, driven crazy by love, it’s deranged and sooo sincere. excellent perf and production, this really creates a character and pulls me in to the story. the theremin-ish synth is cool over the intense recitation. good to see you, my friend. hope all is well!
yo Legendary! happy bday, there bro! i dig the suspenseful vibe running thru this track, it’s a cliffhanger. always instructive to listen to your machinations, man — your hooks got hooks!
nicely controlled experimentalizm, has a real live set feel to these ears, which is a comment on how responsive you are to the materials yer playin around with. this is ace, dude.
hello. man i really dig this, very well-played in the straight parts, esp loving the bassline. then the impressionistic tweaks and blurs are brilliant and really contibute to the depth of feeling contained in the song. vox and fx are rendered very well. great composition and production on display — damn, man keep going!
hey Julio — holy sh^t bro this has powers of darkness bleeding outta my speakers! it’s a great setting for SJ’s shredded and searching vox. this is like, fuck stun, set the phasers to kill.
