What a lovely set of gear! The Harley Benson is a fan fret right? And the TD17 is also a very nice one, I have the TD-07.
More importantly, what a great song! Great vocalists too! I enjoyed that!
Really good! And how nice to find another soul who finds joy in making the solo journey.
Regarding the mix, that's something I also still suck at, but I've learned a lot from my fellow loopies here. My first comment would be to make your vocals "pop" more. Meaning, give them a more prominent place in your mix.
I've followed various strategies but these days after I recorded everything when I start working on the mix, I first mute everything and work on the vocals - compression, reverb, delay (re-record) until I'm sort of ok with them. Then I start adding drums, bass and other instruments until I'm happy, and then correct anything that sticks out.
Hi Bao. Thanks for the message. Yeh sure, give it a go! Not sure it would suit my voice so was thinking about reaching out for a vocalist anyway.
Please share your version when it's ready - cheers!
It seems I'd never heard this one before! Yes, that guitar is fire, but I also especially enjoyed the bass which is just funky and smooth. Great stuff as always Mark!
Don't be so negative! The trick is to keep creating and make something a little better every time!
I really like the vocals, they're well done. If you're interested to improve this further (and it's already good), there's a lot going on in the vocal registers (eg the guitar lick that's at similar time and notes as the vocals, the snare (?) which is maybe a bit loud, etc. Try to scoop out some space for your vocals in the other instruments with an EQ (and maybe some compression), so they come a bit more to the foreground without being overly loud.
Very interesting ideas! There's some parts where some loops seem to be in minor key while another is in major, but that is fixable. But I think your track got cut off t the end?

I might actually try singing your lyrics to your track (maybe with some minor changes). Would that be ok?
Please share your version when it's ready - cheers!

Je hebt gelijk.Ik geniet er zeker wel van.
Al maak ik af en toe nog wel een beat maar zingen gaat nu echt voor.
