Sounds good man. Great rough mix. I like the compression on your bass; really fills the room.

I use FL studio but i have an extensive library of loops so most of it is just cheating really. It's just a case of finding sounds that match up so it's more time consuming than actual talent. I do occasionally write stuff from scratch but i just love mixing different grooves together to see what happens.
Cheers for stopping by and commenting.

on Up To Par Remix by scottishfortress
There is something about the vocals that in my opinion does not quite blend with the song. Not sure what. The song just doesn't feel like its scoped perfectly around the vocals. With a few corrections in your mixing process, this song would sound better but it's still decent, I suppose. Keep working at it! Cheers!

Thanx for taking the time to comment. Ed did all the hard work, so the credit goes to him. I just followed his lead!

I like the idea, though I do agree going back and fixing a few minor issues will make this already-great song sound even better. Keep up the good work, FreeRadical. I'm loving your music. Cheers!

I agree that the mixdown isn't the best. I had the dithering switched on when i converted it not realizing that dithering makes the track sound worse at the time. Took me ages to figure that one out but alas the file is gone so i can't work on it anymore. I only put the track back up as i was hoping peeps would go and check out Alans profile but thanks for stoping by and commenting.

At this point, the bass is overriding everything else, making for a difficult master. I'll see if I can mess with it and make it work. Cheers!

I like it! Good low-end, balanced frequencies. Of course, mastering can improve the overall clarity of an already good song so when its finalized I offer my service, if you so feel it is necessary! Cheers!

lol its ok dude XD

and you most likely are right about the chords although i wouldn't change it.
When i make a remix i dont tend to listen to the original song before i produce the remix, reason is, (for me) because i want to take the track in a direction that i want to take it, and not be sort of 'controlled' by the original. dont get me wrong i LOVE the original song, but ive not listened to it in months.

So reason is for the vocals and chords changing at different times from the original is basically because im not working from the song, if you know what i mean. Im working from what sounds right to me at the time of producing, even if it technically isnt right haha.

I dunno if that makes much sense haha. its really hard to explain lol

Thanks for the comment man :) ... All 4 of them ;)

on XyIlent - Someone Like You by XyIlent
In the first part before she starts to sing "I hate to turn up out of the blue..." Are her notes placed on the wrong bar or she singing slower than the song? I don't know if this was intended but I recall in the original song, the chords change at a different time than was done in this remix. Something doesn't feel quite right there, to me at least. Overall, great job with your mix! Keep up this music, I really do dig your stuff. Cheers!

Is it just me or are her notes placed on the wrong bar? I don't know if this was intended but I recall in the original song, the chords change at a different time than was done in this remix. They seem off-sync, to me at least. Great job! Keep up this music, I really do dig your stuff. Cheers!

on Thing Called Love - Above n Beyond Ether Blu Cover by EtherBlu
Your mix is excellent. I like the low-end and how it comes through without overriding the rest of the frequency spectrum. Something I did find interesting, though, was that by playing around with the levels at

90 Hz (with a Q-factor of 3.97)
310 Hz (w/ a Q-factor of 3.38) and
810 Hz (w/ a Q-factor of 2.88)

helps to improve the overall clarity and juiciness of your mix. For instance, playing around with the 700-850 Hz really helps the vocals stand out in the mix while still remaining nicely balanced with the rest the other instruments. While it is only a slight change, I think it boosts the overall power and clarity of your song and would consider it at least worth messing with! Cheers and great job!

on Zombie - Insomnia featuring Farisha by Insomnia2015
I like the way your music sounds on the track "Zombie". sounds rich and juicy, though I have a few things I'd like to point out that stood out to me. I felt that Farisha's voice was a little overpowered by the lead synth at the point when she sings "stab me right in the heart" I think simply raising the volume of her voice and gently rolling back the synth's volume when she sings will solve this problem. Cheers and great job regardless!

hey thanks for the feedback! i totally agree with you too btw. the vocals are a bit tricky to mess with on that track. i know exactly where your talking about where the lyrics are a little low, but the vocal overtones seem to over power the track entirely if i emphasize that part too much :/ perhaps some compression might help. i'll have to mess with it some more though. anyways, thanks for the input again man!
