Thats some awesome low end you got going with the mix. Like the panning of the FX and guitars as well. Takes some of the stress off the high ends of the mix.
Thanks Psych!! Once you take out all the frequencies dealing with cancellation, the mix will open up.. Then figure out what frequencies are important to each instrument and panning same like frequencies away from each other. I'm always finding that between 150hz and say 300hz to be a problem cuz most instruments use those. Then figure out the feel, groove and energy of the music piece.. Well that was my approach to the mix... The mastering was done on the master output of the session, waves renn. comp. then waves L1 and the power dither on shaping 3.. and that hole processes took about 2 1/2 hrs.. My take on bad notes?? I was suppose to mix and master, there are no such thing as bad notes just poor decisions, but is that my place to say which is what, in most cases I would ask the writer but this was a contest and maybe a trick in the piece so I'm mixing and mastering not doing production.. Anyways thats my take on this.. Again thanks to all who enjoyed it and commented on the mix.. Was really cool to hear all the different mixes, and to be involved in this event..
