on Eye On Looperman re-upload by Artwatcher
This is a wicked fun track ... bitchin groove, rockin guitar. The drums IMO could come through a little bigger; they are kinda hiding behind the lead. Are you using a DAW and if so, which one?

Hey GS,
Thanks for the props. I am doing some fine tuning on the piece now, so I'll give your suggestion a try. No, I'm not using a DAW, strictly low budget. Old Dell and Sony Acid Music Studio 6 and $1.49 headphones (from Woot) is all. But your asking shows how good these looperman loops are.

on lets dance by dsam
You may have two or three songs hiding inside this one. I like the sounds, but like The Offspring said, 'you gotta keep 'em separated'.

Good start!

on Madness To My Method by disciple2jah
There is definitely a certain madness about this track ... maybe could be called psy-DnB. :-)

The arp synth sounds great, really good groove, and the tracks layer nicely in the mix. Like!

Thank you very much! I really like your idea about PsyDnB; maybe if you don't mind I'll use that name?!
I've been working really hard on some type of new DnB, if you have any ideas let me know!

For a first effort, this mix is phatness indeed. Great foundation for an MC, too. I love the drum track. The melody needs a bridge or break to give it variation. Great job!

on Stellar by DougieDJ
Hiya Splish,

Love the intro .... immediately interesting. I love tracks with unusual vocal samples, and this is one. Right, left, no a little more right, left, left, LEFT! lol Terrific!

Lol yeah it's quite different to what I usually do...but I think it was a good effort. Thanks for the review!

on Broken wings(Instrumental) by Deja
Very listenable, with nice integration of the different guitar tracks. I would like to hear the melody take off in another direction within some sort of bridge, then come back to the starting story line. Great job!

on hit'em by mouko
Hi Mouko,

This is a great track. At first I thought the synth and bass line were getting lost behind the (excellent) vocals, but you were just teasing. Nice buildup. Some good listening!

I guess boredom must be good for the creative energy. This is a terrific track ... some in vogue elements but very very fresh. Lovely production. I wish I got this bored, lol. A fav!

Thank you for favortiing it, really cool of you to do so! I like my tunes crisp and different... one because I'm different and two because I don't like normal =D
BTW boredom doesn't usually get me going but my mind tries to capture a thought through a song. Most if not all times they come out totally different to what I want haha...so really i have no control what-so-ever :D
Thanks again!

You're right, this is classic. You have all the right tracks and the production is excellent .... maybe work on making it a little more distinctive, creative instead of repetitive. Overall, very nice!

on It's Killing Me (Instrumental) by Fresco
I like! The guitar riffs and the vocals play off one another very well. Bitchin' groove as well. Is it a synth you used to get the viola sounds in the midrange?
Fresco

Yeah I guess you could say it was a synth. Thanks for the review.

Your versatility is so impressive. This is a great listenable track, beautifully produced. I use Ableton as well .... it's awesome even for us pretend musicians! :-)

on Street ambience by shamus1
Awesome, and aptly named. I especially like the gated/arpeggiated synth effect in the second half. First half was a little atonal but with that fabulous phat tubular bass, so the song has a lot of good contrast and variation. I agree the kick could be a little 'boomier'. Love it!

Will sure sort out that kick and snare, nice picking up the arpeggiator synth. Glad you fancied the track and bass mould.

Love the groove, and the vocal. That's you singing? Great tone ..

The production sure sounds quality to me ... what program did you use? I use Ozone but even with all its fancy features I never get it quite right.

Yep it's me singing... this stuff is a means to an end for me, my way of getting to songwrite. Thanks for listening... I use Acid Pro 6... but I've been doing online karaoke for some time.. and I use Adobe Audition for my vocals *which I swear by* and I have a decent mic/mixer setup. I think it helps.

on Panic Attack's Backwards Roses Re-Seeding by Phill_Epps
I really like this .... the reverse hits are terrific and the piano/strings are a pretty counterpoint to what would otherwise be somewhat industrial. Apt title!

The Keys were the hardest part, especially with the tail reverb attached to them. Thank you for your nice comments!

Fabulous.... very smooth, beautifully produced. Did you record the instrumentals live, or put samples together? Wow ... something to aspire to.

Thanks! I play the guitar live but sometimes I need a little help with the bass since I just started playing bass. Nice job on boyz.... I was funked out!
