Drum & Bass *is* a really difficult genre, you're right... I wouldn't be able to make the drum loops.. I just haven't got the patience.
If you want loops, primeloops offer free little taster packs which include a few.. just go around and collect all the free ones and you'll have a pretty decent library after a while lol
Yeah this aint finished yet.. Still gotta add like, another 3 minutes to it. Just a bit stuck on phase 2 atm.
Definitely good with that Piano roll :P I really like it - it is more trance than house I'd say but you already mentioned your position on that!
I'l like to hear more compression and eq on the master channel. Flick through some of the presets on Fruity's multiband compressor and see if you like it!
Yeahhh it's really annoying. I do get carried away experimenting with sounds and I just put what ever I like the sound of in to the mix.. So my tracks suffer from genre(gender?) confusion lol
I *will* make a firm house track one of these days!!
As for the multiband EQ, I never actually use the one on FL.. Instead I use the multiband compressor that comes with Ozone. Maybe I'll try your suggestion and see which one gets a better sound :)
Love what you've done with the backing - the vocals are out of key and mostly out of time though and that put me off a bit. But that backings excellent.
nice touch with the random half speeds - and lovin the use of gross beat (Ithink thats what I'm hearing anyway). I feel like the bass needs more !oomph' though.. really wanted that track to kick me in the nuts.
You've got talent tho man and thanks for sharing your work
Gross beat helps alot hahaha...but yea, I listen to death metal and I always love the half speed breakdowns with a steady ride...just something I can rock hard too. But with electronic lol. Appreciate the review =]
Number jacks right. The drum lines you've laid down are amazing - just needs a little talking to on the eq and maybe another kick drum on top? same with the bassline.
I didn't get on well with the intro I have to say. But my opinion was swayed about 1:20 in. The panning Arp is tremendous and words great with the simplistic beat you bring in.
Well it's ok i feel like i forced myself to like the intro so i don't mind it anymore :D After all people saying smth i think i gotta remake it. But will see when :D
Hi Bennymc
Thankyou for reviewing my track and your positive comments. I had never created a track until I joined this site, so Im sure you will be getting just as creative very soon, because that is what this fantastic site does for you, big thanks to Shan for creating Looperville.
Thankyou

If I were to tweak it,I might speed it but a tad and put a tiny bit of room reverb on the drums. Also I might have a deeper bassline copying the main one at the same time to make it hit a bit harder.
Love the intro although I feel more could be done to mesh the riffs together. Also it occasionally sounds 'thrown' together as the speed changes alot. Did you play a synth Live to record it?

This is a sick tune! Proper unrelenting - love it. What are you using to make your bass? NI Massive?

D&B is really hard to make. I love the genre but it's really hard to make a track stand out. A struggle that we don't seem to share!
Really, really great. I look forward to hearing a finished one...? (You said 'so far' in your description)

Bit tinny, heavy on the eq at the top end and/or too much mid taken out.
But like it said, its still a good track :)
