Hey Bert..totally fluid man, some music has it from the get go and this is a prime example...the choice of timbre to the synth sound is brilliant with a superb hollow resonance supported by class "A" rhythms..I think it's this breath like quality that matches so well with the vocals...Ahh yes the singing..what can I say,the concept and imagery come through perfectly with a flawless execution that is only matched by the production values at play here...a pro job if ever I've heard one!...real music for an unreal crazy world..cheers Dave :)
Glad you enjoyed the cut darmoor. I listened to it again and dig it too though I think it could be more hard hitting in the beat dept. more of that funky stuff on the edges to round it out with sup-prizes for the listeners ear bones...thanks again darmoor for you taking the time to listen and write...
Hi Bert..my first visit to your page...Cool stuff!..I love that middle eastern type vibe initially...then the whole groove steps off the side of the reef into deep blue Jazzmatic splendour..Holly's voice is a great instrument in it's own right and you've used it to full effect..An excellent piece of work that displays great sensitivity and complete control of the medium....Blue water music!
cheers planet :)
cubase sx3 makes it all possible my friend. ty for you comments...This song has Florence and opera singer from France, now living in Singapore, singing the lead. She also wrote the lyrics...the tweeking...me, cubase and WAVES
Thank you Steevo but, most of the praise goes to Eshar for supplying the pellas. For without I would not have given it a go...
Thanks again Steevo,
BLt
I really liked it. Spoken word is a category you don't hear very often but this is excellent. Almost light jazz. I love Eshar's voice. It works very well in this piece. The end was too abrupt for me though.
Thank you for your post Koble. You are right about the endings abruptness. I was trying for a pause or reflection. The last words she spoke is in the original poem about the second sentence. I cut and pasted it to the rear of the tune for whatever reason...creative licence or sum sum like that. I appreciate your comments and look fwd to listening to your trax.
