Yes, excellent idea.. i would personally add some strings and work more on the percussion and drums. But, the idea is excellent and safe (catchy) style to develop for the future.

I like it but u need to finnish it. Like add a beat in it, and make it longer and write another verse to it and repeat the same chorus. If u want the same chorus repeated.
