Hi again, this isn't really the forum for this chat but never mind. It is pretty crazy man. Yeah Polly rings a bell for sure. Maybe she was the understudy of the older women tattooist. I bought that bike off Norvil for 20 quid.
Haha thats classic you bought it. So funny that a random meeting on a music site can lead to discussing Norvils bike.
Have a good New Year my friend!
Jake
Early 90s to be exact but hey. I remember SAS, had a lot of respect for what they did, raising awareness and pushing change. It'was something I felt strongly about. I'm an ecologist/botanist now but was a nature child back then... Still am I guess. Never got to st Agnes tho. There's a few local characters I knew from Newquay tho,. Like Norvil No Sense (don't know his real name). Had a Mohawk and a little dog and rode around on an old BMX bike. He introduced me to the women who was tattooist there at the time. And then there was the guy from Manchester who was our go-to for scoring hash.....so chances are.... three degrees of separation and all that.
In the end we got the water here cleaned up by forcing change through the European Parliament. For 20 years it worked pretty well. Unfortunately since leaving the EU successive governments have turned a blind eye to our privatised water companies discharging raw sewage back into the sea every time it rains.
I used to see that guy with the mohawk cruising with his dog n bike combo all the time, and yes I think his name was/is Norvil. Im guessing the tatooist might be Polly? - she cruised around in a van a lot - I met her in Taghazoute in Morrocco around '92 but I know she lived around Newquay as my mates up there all knew her also - infact my ex has one of her inkings. Like you say degress of separation, the world can truly feel like a small place sometimes. It's not really, it's fkn huge which makes meeting you on here pretty unlikely and quite a pleasant surprise.
Thanks brother :) It so funny you were in Newquay in the mid 90's. Im from St Agnes (Aggy) just down the coast and was working for Surfers Against Sewage at that time - maybe you came to one of the parties we organised..? I gotta admit tho my memory of it all is a bit blurry - crazy rave days but a great time to arrive in the UK.
Hi LNTL, this is a really fun track to listen to. For some reason, while listening, I picture a highway where everything is happening in fast motion. The piano is fantastic. Great work!
Cheers,
Micky
Hey Micky. Thanks for your feedback and I'm happy you enjoyed it.
I think that highway you pictured is kind of where my mind lives a lot of the time :)
Wishing you all the best for New Year!
Nice work with the piano parts that so beautifully describe to us the festive feeling of the Christmas season. The beat is great.
Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
I am of a certain vintage you could say ;) I'm happy you like it. I'm sure you could play those keys way better - I just fudge it together and hope for the best. Happy accidents :) Merry Christmas my friend!
good house vibes bro, its got a bit of pace too, nice keys, good melody and the drums are cool too, great vocal chop, you could have used that in so many different ways throughout this doubled chopped multi layered reverbed delayed etc but its still a good listen as is, mix and production are fine also, good work LNTL
Thanks brother I appreciate your feedback. You know what I got stuck on the vocal thing for so long, almost chopped them altogether, but then then I thought fuck it, its christmas and just I posted it anyways :) Big fan of your tunes. Million thanks and Merry Christmas
Funnily enough I used to play that a long, long time ago ;) I know what you mean - that jungle run with the totem heads and bubbling bongos. Classic.
Your tone needed no adjustments my friend and it was a real pleasure to create around. Million thanks
Haha. Thanks Frenz. I'm not sure why Garageband has decided to do this either....? I tried several times to export it and it kept happening. I couldn't be arsed to import it all and edit it in another bit of software. Just pure unadulterated laziness.
Thank you I'm super happy you left a comment. It's awesome all these people from across the globe sharing like this. Many thanks.
For the last few years my thoughts and support have been with the Ukrainian people. We fly your flag in my village. Peace
Thank you so, so much. What a nice compliment and I'm so happy you felt it. I made it on a 2009 Imac with 2015 Garageband. I live off-grid in a small shed on my own with limited electricity. That I can make music at all makes me very happy. That its making you guys happy. That is a really warm feeling. Thank you. I'm going to check out your vibrations also.
Million thanks
