I would like this one no matter what genre you put it under...would even make a dandy sound track for the right pictures...This one kicks of my Saturday morning just right (yes...its Saturday night over your way...the world will end about 12 hours earlier over there)....Great stuff Chris...you must have salvaged your music gear...always good to hear a new one from you...I knew it would be good...Ed.

Nice! Idk who did the processing on the vocals but its a great reverbed, haunting feel. I love that synth that comes in at around 2:41. It really drives the track along.

my always good friend , Chris ,unseen brother of mine , first of all , greatest appreciations to your kind hearts , worthy perception & all other things thaT I don't write here & write iside of my brain's page to remember 2_0 for Chris & an exclusive appology if I haven't found this chance to discove this earlier.
and...then the main matter...I want to mention , there are many of our unseen brothers in various chains who have no Chris to Reminisce them & remind us to remember people who deserve soooooooo more than this Behnam who has jusT talked & talked & talked & tried & haven't done anything usefull for the reasons why he had come to looperman & rightnow is drinking his tea beside persian gulf .
not a complimanT it is , noT a hummbled talking by someone who is from east side of yours & noT a motto or emblem , this is unaddorned reallitY .
Chris can't U even guess how this was impressive for me & We ( me & U ) are taking what a greaT comforter & sedative (really as a sedative medicine ) if U dedicate iT to a useless lucky Behnam who has nothing pragmathicallY done. ..some times I think I've changed to a pretentious musician who has been appreciated more than what he has deserved & for what he has meanT buT never has done iT ..Chris there's no doubT for me thaT I don't deserve such dedications till I haven'T broken no chains while I'm silenT & just make some stuffs instrumental & with speechess lips of a scarecrow whose Brain has become a pillboX & his haT a pigenhole who composes songs in outfield of looperman & does nothing buT trying to forgeT & runing away fast & faster & with closed eyes ..
Chris , as a brother I please U to dedicate it from yourside & if possible myseide too , to all humans who are in chains in all prisons of the world , & let me feel have been a flute part of this dedication to all pour unseen brothers .
wish U'll read this soon...althoughT I'm sending an email too rightnow...I'm already gratefull Chris for I'm sure U'll underestand me & will say with me '' no matter what it seems '' & will be kind enough to dedicate it to all humans who deserve & even this more than me,indeed .
Chris I believe , this humans's planneT is honoured for having such humans like U ..this little virtual world of looperman is small for your thaughts & particularry I'm really honoured for having this worthy chance to know U .
best wishes.________Behnam Zandi

Thank you so much behnam!

I wish i had more time to write to you,but my time is very limited at this moment.

Sometimes in life, regardless of age we have to do grown up things like pay bills, making sure family is ok,fixing cars, housework, health and so it all takes up my time at this moment.!

It's another reason i make music just as a hobby.!

As sometimes i have to be doing everything but music as time is limited.!

Like most things in life,i just take each day as it comes and i'm thankfull that i can still smile as the world turns mad.!

Im always thinking music, even if i cant produce it at the moment.!

Kind Regards!

This is a very soothing track, and it's a nice audio beginning to my day. Had some trouble lately, so it's nice to hear something soothing. I like the sounds you've chosen to use very much! I'm not usually a big ambient fan, but I really appreciate what you've done here! Good work! Have you heard from Benham lately? It's been almost two months for me.

A very haunting piece, BB. Good job. I've played with two symphony orchestras and know the line of instruments quite well, but have never heard of a triple flute. I had a hard time discerning the sound in your piece. I'm going to Google it, now. Maybe you and Behnam will teach me something today.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers,
Scott

Thank you scott!

The triple flute i think is a persian instrument from what i understood from Behnam.!

He sent me some sounds and i used for this track.!

Thanks for taking time to listen and comment!

Bonjour ***chris***

First of all, I can write here, that your music impresses me. I salute the work done, because I know it is not always easy to integrate external partitions ....
I love the construction of this concept, and it allows me to know you better, you better appreciate. Here it's very close to my special harmonic musics, and I gather that it was designed with a lot of very personal feeling (The title demonstrate) ....
In summary, I love this aspect of your musical personality.
I wish you a Merry Christmas .... happy and magical.

Great pads supported by the Dyno keys. Could see this building up to where a strong drum kit backs some lead guitar from Behnam! Very nice all the same

Yeah i know what your saying, what worries my amaturnes is if i did that i would probly end up heading in another direction lol!

For me on this one,i just wanted to keep it minimal.

As you know any track can be changed at any time, i normally bugger up tracks when i start to alter so i leave that to the pro's lol

Thanks for your comments mate!

Cool, haunting synth sounds. My kind of big, widescreen, sweeping intro.

I don't know what a triple flute is. Is it three flutes tied together to make one superflute?

I can't actually hear that much flute in this. Perhaps it needs to come up in the mix.

I can't really fault this as a big, haunting, drifting composition (oh, except for the abrupt, cutoff ending) but I don't listen to much ambient as I tend to get bored so feel I need a groove under those sorts of far out sounds I love.

So I'd probably have trouble picking this out of a whole load of other similar ambient pieces. But I'm sure it would go fairly well over some scene or other in, for instance, Bladerunner.

Are you familiar with the Global Communication album? That's probably my favourite ever ambient album.

Bet this was trippy to make. Might have had you falling asleep at your computer (careful you don't accidentally delete all files).
brillbilly
brillbilly replied 16th Dec 2013 - 12 years ago
Hi StaticNomad.!

Thanks again for your insight and as always your encouragment.!

The triple flute is an iranian instrument that behnam played. He sent me some samples and i put this together about 3 months ago,but it had sound quality glitches that i could hear, but may have been overlooked by the listener.

Anyway i had time to smooth it out just to give me peace of mind.!

Normally i dont go back over Tracks as i tend to balls them up.!

Trippy lol

yeah you know i love trippy psychedelic thought provoking sounds,it's different for no other reason than it's how i just let sounds do there thing, as i use sounds that come from many genre's.

Yes my friend im aware of Globel Communication,I know them as being 90's electronic, but i havnt heard any of their stuff for years.!

I was more in to Jarre to be honist.!.

Lol whats sleep?

I suffer chronic insomnia so theres a high chance i can delete all files anytime...Done it befor,...well not all files, but many master copies of tracks lol.!

Thanks again mate for your always thoughtful comments.!

Chris, you know what is great about your page? There is not one bad song in your entire list. Every last song is a great listen and this one is no exception. I'm way too old and feeble to dance, but I can bob my head like I know what I'm doing, hahaha.

Great mix, great production and a thoughtful creation. Well done my friend. I do hope all is well.

Hey man - thanks for the excellent reply. Damn right this track is worth commenting on!

I certainly also do music as a type of self therapy as well as obsession and sort of intellectual and emotional puzzle as well as other reasons.

Music can be so very therapeutic and I appreciate you sharing your physical condition as that's interesting, sad and inspiring to read about. I've wondered what I might do if I was injured in such a way that I couldn't play any instruments. I think I'd just make loads of electronic-based stuff. I do a fair bit of pure/mostly pure electro anyway though I guess I would miss being able to add my own natural sense of timing and feel to the track.

I program most of my synth stuff as I'm a poor and lazy keyboard player. But I've got good at knocking out a part or two on the keyboard and then quantizing it and copying and rearranging it endlessly with the mouse.

But, as you can no longer do the instrument playing, I totally respect the stuff that you do. Maybe you could try to collaborate more with some good instrumentalists? Also, you could get some guitar VSTs (eg one from Sugar Bytes). I've just got one guitar sample instrument which I'm looking forward to making do stuff I probably can't do on the actual guitar neck eg complicated, fast, tight, arpeggiated patterns.

This old-school musician has come a long way in five years. I've been doing it on PC for about 14.

All the best to you and your musical excursions. Hey, why sleep when there's music to be made!
brillbilly
brillbilly replied 9th Dec 2013 - 12 years ago
Thank you so much, for taking time to write your lovely reply.!

Also big thanks for the link to guitar VST.!

I do need a major update, but times can be hard mate.!

As for doing more collab's...I will leave that to the experts lol...I'm just happy that i can somehow do what i do.!

Music is a great outlet, and it's even better if it's created by ones self, even if it is trial and error lol

I just do what i do coz somehow i can when the mood is right.!

If i'm not in the right frame of mind, then i dont even try.!

That's the beauty of not commiting to collabs from my perspective.!

Thank you again for your possitive feedback and info.!

Cheers mate!

Some great bass sounds in this and I like that tinkly intro synth.

I think that main bass riff reminds me of a faster version of the main bassline from The Prodigy's excellent Diesel Power, though I might be wrong.

These parts and sounds have some real balls to them and they're not cheesy or annoying or too harsh so all nicely controlled. And mixed.

It just sounds like really professional stuff that a lot of people would enjoy on a dancefloor.

It's kind of a bit samey for my tastes, despite the variations such as removing the drums, but it would be excellent for a club. And I'd probably appreciate it a lot more there than listening at home here and now.

Lead riff at 2:25 is cool. Sounds a little bit like some funk wah guitar. It might even be but I'll guess synth anyway.

Ending is very cool and stylish too.

Not much I can fault apart from the lack of variety so well done.
brillbilly
brillbilly replied 2nd Dec 2013 - 12 years ago
Thank you so much StaticNomad.!

Coming from someone as talented as your good self,i'm highly honoured that you think this is worth commenting on.!

I do this as a pure happy novice, and seek no fame or fortune,as i just make what i like the sound of thats all.!

I do play guitar and keyboard, but nothing like the standard that you play, also unlike yourself that plays superb live,I mainly just use sounds from soundpools.

I do this just as a sort of self therapy.!

I'm oldschool,i'm a child of the 60's,but only started making music on PC in 2008 to help me recover from breaking my neck.

I struggle with playing guitar/keyboards now ,as i have right hand side nerve damage.!

It just gives me something to focus on, as it really helps me to pass time through the night,as i suffer from chronic insomnia too.!.

Thank you for your very kind comments, as i dont rank my music for pro quality...only Enjoyment.!

Big thanks mate!
