Hey Brillbilly, thanks for the diversion! Sometimes it is good to just sit back and let the rhythms take us somewhere else....this one seems alive, the drums like a racing heartbeat.....

really, really well done. I'm glad you keep writing music, and especially glad you share it with all of us. Hope all is well.

Thanks bear,as you know it's been a hard emotional week!

It was the only way i could find a place that eased my mind from thinking negitive thoughts!

Music can convey a message, but it also has that ability to take the mind to places without pain!

This track really sums up just how hectic and fast paced life can and how quick things can change!

Thank you for taking time to post comment bear!

I don't think this is Trance... but that does not matter...
Love the sounds, but the bassdrum could standout a bit more, it sounds a bit to muddy... it needs more punch!
I like the arp'ed bass and the techy effects... but put some more reverb to them to give those fx more depth..
The arrangement is good, don't change that!

Like it very much! great style!

Man I love how this just keeps driving right along. It drives like it knows where it's going. Like it has a destination. And that destination is your local rage location! Definitely had my head nodding through this piece. I like the sound effects, and the hard drums the most. Well done, Peace.

Hello Brill billy, The get away music! I like that constant synth. Universal style and for me represents more than one thing. Escape, pain, lost, and numb. Life goes way to fast it seems these days, Indeed this is the pace of life. Very nice ideas here friend. Evolving thoughts, I enjoyed this instrumental BB. Thank you for sharing it. I esp like the way it starts and that building tension is faved. Drums are very good. I can imagine this is some club, lost in another kind of dimension. Cool! Have a good 1 and holiday friend. Keep expressing. Peace.

on Why Do Ya Hide FT Stephanie Kay by brillbilly
Hi brillbilly

Most of what I do in life tends to be slow paced and this is reflected in my taste in music also. So I like the fact that this has a slower beat.

This is nice stuff, love the bit where everything comes back in together.

This goes to show that electronic music doesn't all have to be frantic and can keep an ambient atmospheric feel to it.

A real good track with excellent use of Stephanie's vocal.

All goodness to you

Tim

Hi Tim

quote; This goes to show that electronic music doesn't all have to be frantic and can keep an ambient atmospheric feel to it.

Spot on mate!

If you listen to any Jean Michel Jarre,he is a great example of how electronic music can be both fast and very ambient.!

I dont do what i know, as i dont know much when making tracks lol

So i just do what i think sounds ok,No collage,No training,No reading music........just by ear!

Steph did all the hard work,i just put her on the lines lol.

Thanks for taking time to leave comment!

Hello ....

I'm not a fan of this kind of music, but I find that I did a disciple of the integration of an acapella at music ....
It is here, a great job, my friend and you must repeat the experience .... Sincerely.

This is like one of those big old luxury cars...builds nicely until it reaches the speed you want and then, oh man, is it good!!!

There are some magical moments in this one, especially around the 2:50 mark on. I loved everything about this one from the vocals to the pads to the nice playful arpeggios.

Freaking awesome work and definitely a must listen for people. Well done! I hope all is well.

My friend, the use of the strings is genius indeed. They provide an emotional harmony for JJ's wonderful vocals. When you put the two together, you get absolute magic.

Sometimes less is more, and the song proves exactly that.

A tip of the hat to JJ, Joe, and especially you (I loved those little flute and guitar snippets). Outstanding production values as well.

A big 10 out of 10 on this one.

I love that you convey strength being built in the song and can totally relate to our life stories being put to sound waves to bring messages.

I am currently struggling with depression. I don't do well with big moves, and the hubby and I returned from Florida to Oregon since he graduated. It's been hard adjusting, fitting back in to the old life, being satisfied with the 9-5. I'm a bit crazy right now to be honest (which is why you will soon see many acapella and track uploads). But I appreciate this song about strength. I need that right now.

So I'm gonna walk away from this stupid slump I'm in, and let my creativity free me and be my therapy! YEAH!

AAwww bless!........yeah jj be strong!

Quote ; I love that you convey strength being built in the song and can totally relate to our life stories being put to sound waves to bring messages.

I can relate to peoples struggles sorry to say.!

JJ 18 years ago i broke my neck.!

I'm still to this day trying to get by as normal as i can under the circumstances.!

Music became my therapy, and i managed to get off 10 years on morphine, pethadine etc with only my mind and inner strenth to guide me.!

But i struggle now with playing guitar/keyboard through nerve damages to right hand side,so i got in to making it on pc 5 years ago lol.

All we can do is take each day as it comes, deal with the bad and cherish the good!

Music is my relief,it's a way i release my feelings like many others here.!

But no matter what i always try to stay happy and smile!

And sometimes you just have to scream arse lol

Lifes a roller coaster and we just got to ride it.

Just a great track brillbilly and JJ....thoughtful composing and your idea of keeping it simple realy just wraps the song & the emotion up perfectly...I have always loved how strings really lift a ballad and carry it along in a big warm cloud....really enjoyed this one....well done you two......Ed
brillbilly
brillbilly replied 6th Nov 2012 - 13 years ago
Thank you Ed for understanding how this had to be minimal.!

I only made from what i feel i got from the vocals.

JJ's words set the tone and the rest i just fold around her, like MR F's beautiful strings.

I'm real happy this track has been understood for it's simple beauty.!

Thank you Ed!

I did upload the song I am working on, as a rough draft, to soundcloud if you wanted to hear it- but it'll be way better once DJGadget plays around with it since I know nothing about mastering vocals and all that jazz.
