This is my first experiment in this genre, I think I never made ballads and I found it fun. Maybe I'll go on this way a bit.
Thanks.

Great song, as always. The music picks up all the feelings of this great voice. A delight.

Please, tell no one there's no real instrument in it (everything is synthetized and played on midi-instruments) apart the birds... oh, the birds have no autotune on.
Thanks for listening.

A burning heart barbeque on earth. Sounds good!!! The beauty is in our eyes, someone said. Thanks a lot as usual.

I just gotta let this out but I love your avatar! lol. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Thanx! :P

Very nice mix indeed. I can hear how you kept the dynamics of his vocals even. When I work with vocals sometimes I add some compression just to smooth it out, and sometimes I just go in and chop those individual voice samples and fix them from there.

That's the beauty of it, there's so many ways to do this. You just gotta find what's comfortable for you and what kind of gear you have to work with.

Enough of my blabbering, nice work man.

Peace.

Hi dachopdocta,

thanks, lol, my avatar is made to attract your attention. What you say, tells me I made it right.

In many of my other past productions I devastated vocals in order to bend them to my will. In this revisited version I tried to maintain the original mood, as if it were a new creation just exit on the radio. Anyway I always use compression and other tools on vocals... this time those birds were flown away if I had abused them.

Have a nice trip on this ship.

Simple is all you need with this, and you've simply done a very nice job! Wish those vocals were a little longer, and I LOVE the birds :-)

on LONG WHITE ROBE featuring H N GAULT by PieroPeluche
Hi Piero,

Sono molto felice di sapere anche voi! For Patricia: the timing problems are my fault. I recorded the track without using any timing device to assist me. So the timing changes. I'm very much a novice to using recording devices. I used a Roland 8-track. Then I recorded the finished track onto a cassette tape, hence the incredible white noise.

My talents lie with voice. I direct a chorale. Hai fatto un ottimo lavoro con i limiti che vi ho presentato, Piero! One day I hope to purchase better equipment so I can make clearer recordings. :-)

Sincerely,

Haile

Nice to read you again on this page.
I tried to correct the timing problems the best I could (I had problems with the live reverb and the many layers of voice to find a silent portion to cut phrases) cloning parts too: I hope I have cut nothing important from the original acapella but my poor english doesn't help me a lot.

Many compliments for your careers. I'm sad I'm not so good at singing to be in your chorale. Maybe I'm too far too anyway.

Ciao.

the timing kinda got lost around 3:55 & 4:50.

very good work here Mr. PieroPeluche!!!! Love that 33/45 LP scratchy sound.
PieroPeluche
PieroPeluche replied 20th Feb 2012 - 13 years ago
I know about the timing problems, but I made a compromise between a perfect timing and the resulting gaps in the vocals because of the effects already present in the acapella. I'll try to fit those gaps in some way when I'll find the time.

Your compliments are sweet bananas for this albino gorilla. :)

Hello Haile,

I'm very pleased to know you. You got skills, absolutely!
The track is still a work in progress. I think I'll fix it in these days... anyway it starts to show its character.
I should try to "remix" some of your other acapellas, with your permission: firstly I'm taking my time to listem to them all. :-)

Thanks for this comment,

Piero.

I'm digging this v much, but I think a few more judicious edits might help the flow - everything is resolved, but the way some of the d/b elements are introduced is abrupt - small quibbles because this is a beautiful setting for a completely amazing pella - more astounding music from you!!
PieroPeluche
PieroPeluche replied 15th Feb 2012 - 13 years ago
My idea was to "separate" the sounding of the voice from the instruments sound: a warm "old" sound for the voice and a "digital" one for the rest, with the voice emerging from an older time... that's why the abruptness... but I'm not yet completely satisfied by the result... I think I'll remix it one of these days.
I just uploaded some funny pics on myspace, take a look if you want: http://www.myspace.com/pieropeluche/photos/albums/my-photos/260005.

I listened to many of your tracks and I like the most... I'm here if you would like to collab on some track... I should be good at drum tracks.
Italy looks like Sweden in these cold days... lol.
