Not bad at all for a first one. My advice on this one is similar to the previous comments. Space in music production is verry important. The guitar loop is the main backing theme on this track, so when the 808's come in they mask the guitar. This is where gain balancing and automation come in, and knowing the frequency the instrument sits in in the frequency spectrum. Then their is melody and song form. For a first Chill track though, You're on your way. How ever I can be of help I'm here. From an OG. PEACE. T576 OUT.
hello. what a good addition to my listening day. i like the sombre-ness of the whole affair, and agree with danke on the mix (i’m always mixing mine too loud for some people, haha). plus i agree that additional instruments would be lovely on this. and you even tease them right in the last second with the plucks!
I think I would have given HALF of my life to be able to write such a first song at that time...as I think it's a great song written for a guitar loop ... that's ok, but monotonous ... if you chose the progressive line, then use more instruments ... I could imagine the saxophone for example ... when the "band" is assembled, a new instrument should be brought in... I really like the mixing, it's not too loud as usual...
that's all fro me ... great upload, have a cool songwriting forever ... :-)
