cg5music, your comment is spot on. I boosted the bass universally and reduced the treble. I could hear the difference right away. See my responses below. Mixing is not my forte but I'm learning. Thanks for listening and responding!
Wow, quite a unique response! It's a peppy little number, that's for sure. People see the Native Style Flute as sad and mournful, but it doesn't have to be. Thanks for listening, bigwes17.
Well the drums are most certainly African, the player how ever is certainly
not, there is a technique in playing those drums, that the player has not grasped yet... :-)...
It's easy to say African Drums to insight interest, it's just that
once they hear it, it makes you look suspect " Out Here " you can fool a
few it just reflects bad on you...
Thanks souncloud--I always appreciate constructive comments.
After finding tracks I can play with my flutes (primary scale pentatonic minor, one octave range) I check the composer's page. Danielgtrman is a guitarist not a drummer--he even describes the drum as an "egg-timer"--djembe? Nonetheless, the track had rhythm and humor. As for the title, as you can see on my profile page I try to credit the original composer of tracks by keeping their titles so others can find them if they want. Although not technically "African," I had fun playing to the track and hope others enjoyed it too. Thanks for listening!
Thank you all for your comments! This piece got the most listens of any I've posted--I'm very happy. I choose collaborations on the basis of compatability with my instrument and genre so if you don't recognize someone's moniker, go check them out!
hey UChris nice to have U back another time again after awhile U've been absent as usual of yours...
your flutes have always sounded amazingly with various
guitar duets & I've always liked it ...
meanwhile I'll write a private message for U ...
best wishes.___Behnam
Awesome stuff. If it's ok, I'd like to use this as a backing track for one of my Youtube videos (full credit and links will be put on it for you!) on Dungeons and Drinking channel. It's seriously great :D
Thanks, you three, for your interest and positive comments. I believe danielgtrman's work is acoustic, and so is mine. I edit for consistency and timing but every note is live. Playing an instrument to solid tracks is an education in itself, and I depend on the generosity of the folks here on Looperman. What a great site this is!
Nice piece, It's got a really natural kind of jam sound to it.
As oxygenfree said the flute hangs in there perfectly and the whole piece is just pleasant on the ears (not like the stuff i make lol)
Thanks, wasavjvcmn. I appreciate your comments. I think I'm going to upload this as a feature and see if the rest of Looperman likes it too. Sometimes the acoustic pieces get lost in the shuffle. TNX again.
I miss Daniel around here, he's such a talented guitarist. You really added a whole new dimension to his track. Terrific work with the flute as always. As Zeerb said, this is nicely chilled - like iced tea on a hot afternoon. Beautiful tone and a beautiful song. Well done.
