on Technique Track Got to have House (GGB) by Beatkutz
I really like this, even though it isn't done. It's been a while since I've heard house that sounded like this ^_^. What I really like is the "growling" synth that starts at 0:55.

Also I agree that the octave up thing near the end should be removed :3 . All in all though, it's extremely good!

*Update* I guess I'll add a pt.2 to this review since it's extended again.

I thought it was good before, I like it even better now. That style of house sounds really good =D

Thank you, glad to hear that you liked it :) It's removed, and added too, the song is now playing for 3m17s ;)

*Update*

Thanks for listening again :) Stay tuned though, I'll probably change it some more over the next few days :)

WAUV... Love the kinky techy beats and sounds (a bit like in the 80s, but with modern bass supplied) in, as the other reviewers says, the start from 0 to 0.38.. Then it goes too disco like to my taste and in another genre and style..., and You sit there arrrgghhh... It startet so nice and kinky and then breaks totally with another style and nice voice with nice effects.. But I would use that voice in another disco song or something and sing a bit more new waved cool/rough... and also smooth in accordance to the start..

Hugs Stina..

Hi Stina, thanks for reviewing :)
Originally, I started out trying to make some progressive house, and then I sat there, with the lead and was all like, "I want to use you!!", so yeah.. I'll definitly try to do something about the start though, I want it to go longer, try out some percussion and some other sound changing over top, like Elotium suggested. I'll look around for vocals as well, or maybe get someone to sing for me ;)

Nice start bro, could use a bassline with a side chain compressor on it to make it pump, cause at the moment its a little one level sounding also putting the same side chain on the gliding leed sound would help it gain a little texture.

Hope that helps a little
Beatkutz
Beatkutz replied Unknown
Thank you for your review :) I made a short bassline at the start, but I'm not sure if I like it. Side-chained the "bass-lead" and made a few other corrections. I'll probably make a new bassline and spice it off with some sub as well, if you have any more suggestions, PLEASE tell us :)

Nice you captured a blend of old and new school house sounds. I don't care for the octave up synth in the last 10 seconds but the acid sound at the beginning between 15 and 39 is nice and should go longer, maybe with percussion or some other sound changing over top. don't be afraid to let something play out for a while, that's what house music is great for. that is my advice. hope this helps.
Beatkutz
Beatkutz replied Unknown
Agree on the octave up synth, wasn't going to be there originally :)
Thank you for your advice, it really helped. I just updated this track now, and I'll do it again making the acid sound longer and mixing it with some percussion. In this update I haven't done that, but I made it longer, sidechained the "lead-bass" and made a short bass-sample at the start, which I'm actually not sure if I like or not :/ Thank you for reviewing, it's great to hear other peoples opinions :)

Need to try and get a better recording of the guitar really, like the piano line. Maybe try playing with/changing the bass sound. Cool beat tho man, keep them coming.
Beatkutz
Beatkutz replied Unknown
Yeah, the only problem is that we don't have a better mic i think. We tried denoiser, different types of guitar amps, adjusting guitar sound to as clean as possible, but we didn't get it any better than it is at its current state. You know any tips, which doesn't involve renting a studio, hehe? :) Changing the bass sound to match the piano? Sounds like a good idea, I probably got a little carried away when recording it, haha. I'll see what I can do nonetheless. Thanks for continuously helping us out, means a lot :)

Hey man...some good little ideas goin on here. Like i said earlier get your backing sorted then add to it bit by bit...Really like the little vocal smaple in here..And the sidechain pads are quite nice even if a little loud. Keep writing and each track will be better..
Beatkutz
Beatkutz replied Unknown
Hey Salkizar! Yeah, thanks for those tips, I'm all over Logic trying to follow the layout of your "how-to-make-insane-music" :P Thank you, I wanted to try out the new software I got (Melodyne), and try to do something similiar to my voice as the folks that does "Auto-tune the news" :) and I'm just learning how to bus tracks with kick layout and some other nifty things, so hopefully I'll start producing better over time :)

Thanks for checking out my track :)

Interesting track fam, maybe double up the kick and get a fat sounding snare or clap in there too. Bit of percussion with a delay could be nice too. Like it man, keep them coming.

EDIT: Not sure mate, you should try all sorts of different ones and see what sound the best. As for doubling the drums, that works on most hip hop and dance tracks, pretty much always sounds better, but you have to mix one of the two snares or kicks lower than the other. I take it you're already putting a limiter on your master channel too? Pretty much all dance producers do. Good luck mate.
Beatkutz
Beatkutz replied Unknown
thank you for listening ET. Always great to hear your input :) What kind of percussion were you thinking of? I will, buying a Yamaha KX8 88-key now! Hoping that will help me take my beats to the next level. Learn some basic music theory as well, there's so incredibly much to learn! :D

I believe the better genre for this would be electro or techno. But this definitely isn't dubstep. I loved it though, no matter what genre. And I had the same approach when I made Boogie Bots (it's on my profile).

I like newskool beat - i found same acapella a while ago and had som ideal of my own , but now i'll be moving to the next one ":) - my only suggestion is to beef up your drums - needs to be louder and some eq would help to keep it dry (my opinion)
Beatkutz
Beatkutz replied Unknown
Thank you for the review. Yeah, I did way too little work on my drums. Thank you for the tips by the way, I really need those, since I'm fairly new to this ;) So, louder and eq for dryness, thanks! :)

Good ideas in here man, some nice and tasteful choices for the instrumentation. I like it, very different. Grime speed too, would be nice to hear the vocal version once it's done. Keep them coming man.

Me too man, let me know when it's up. Check my track public enemy number 1 when you get a chance too. I shouldn't be saying that but I think you'll like it man. Stay it touch.

Heihei! :D

Takk for review :)

Hello,
listen to your track, I feel that I write a ballad rather than a hip hop. I find your melody with the bass rythm, really done for this.
Good production... an idea t oepxlore.
