I agree. I usually create the beat with the vsti drums in Magix. They sound pretty realistic. I then add some parts of loops to make them sound very realistic. I definitely plan on going back and creating. Thanks for the advice. I will check out your newest beat.
I really dig your playing style! I remember David Gilmour From PinkFloyd saying he tries to make the guitar sing when he plays, to me you've done that on this song! Thanks.
Thanks for the compliment and kind words man. I do have a love for Pink Floyd. It's funny because I used to listen to them alot when I was younger, and I never really stopped listening to them, I just grew to have other musical role models that I liked an wanted to sound like. Funny things is, when playing from the heart, I usually do thinks that are Pink Floydish on the guitar. I think the bluesy rock sound is stuck in my soul. Its a good thing I suppose.
Well man don't know if I'm qualified to review or judge anyone, but I guess I can offer my opinion. I think the guitar work is very good , though I think maybe you could have went a different direction with the drums. The recording itself seems mixed pretty well to me.I like the chorus especially the but I can't let go.
I hope this helps, and I don't seem to critical.Especially since I haven't uploaded anything myself yet.
Thanks for the review and the kind word. I joined this site just about a week ago and I really like the people here. I'll make it a point to check out some of your tunes too. Thanks again for the review.
Really love the sound you have going with the guitar, what are you running through? It sounds great; also very smooth playing as well, absolutely love this style of playing.
Thanks guitarguy316,
I am glad you like what you're hearing. I used an Ibanez guitar and a Digitech RP-90 processor, running straight into my computers mic in. Only the effects from the RP-90 are used. I used to own a Digitech RP-1. It was much more expensive than this RP-90. These new processors cost less and sound so much better. Gotta love technology. Anyway, thanks for checking out my songs.
Wow, this is good guitarjock. It sounds very fluent. It sounds like a band did it in a recording studio, not the least bit digital or looped. Great job.
Thank you RayKoefoed. On this one I was messing around and came up with the little melodic part that repeats throughout the song. It kind of reminds me of something Eric Johnson would do, though it's probably much simpler than him in technicality. Anyway, I am glad you liked it. Thanks for the review.
Awesome. Definitely Dream Theater. I like that it is a little harder than DT. Intricate but catchy. Just some great music to listen to. The keyboard sound adds a lot and compliments everything else. Great job- I like what you are putting out. Kper
Thanks Kper. I wish I could find a band that wanted to play this type of stuff. For one, it would be nice to have a real drummer that can play the off-beat stuff so that I don't have to cut loops up and misalign them on purpose to fake the sound. Thanks for the review man.
Thanks for the review. I use Magix Music Maker. A lot of people don't like Magix, yet some do. It can be glitchy at times, but overall, It's my favorite. It has lots of effects and a mastering suite as well. I didn't actually use the mastering suite on this one though.
Wow real nice dude. great work with the drums.. the energy really comes through with them. I really like about 2:10ish in the mad solo then it gets real heavy n crunchy.. very nice.. the drumwork there was mad. Two thumbs way up...
First off, I have to ask, did you record this live? It sounds amazingly real. Friggin' epic all the way through, man. It had all the melodies and rhythm working in all the right ways, and I can't really even think of any suggestions for it. Which is saying something. Crazy awesome.
Hello Chimpyguy878. Thanks for the review. All but the drums are played live. I use drum loops because I can't seem to find a band. So this is the closest I get to being a rock star lol. Recording is a blast. Thanks again for the review.
Super fantastic track!
The guitar is super fricking amazing! I really enjoyed the synths and drums.
My comments are as follows, the vocals are too quite with lots of plosives, and I can not hear the bass line.
Thanks for the review. Vocals are the hardest part for me. The next mix for it will have the vocals raised a little. I wish I could get rid of the plosives. The only way to fix that will likely be to re-record the vocal parts themselves. As for the bass line, there isn't actually any bass in the song. So I really should look at adding one. I am glad that you like what I have so far. I appreciate the feedback you gave. It will help in making this track better. I will check out some of your tunes. Thanks again for the review.
I enjoyed the progressive nature of this track. The keyboard work is great and really adds a nice layer. Everything is very well put together. I like how the keyboard melody at times mirrors the guitar riff. Great riffs in general. This is well constructed and each section is put together to flow well into the next and creates a complete song. Very interesting- this is a genre I enjoy and I think you have added a great track to this genre. Great job. Looking forward to hearing more. Kper
Thanks Kper for the review. This is the first song that I have ever been somewhat happy with my vocals. So I finally have a song with all the parts. I usually just upload music and no vox. Anyway, thanks for the review and have a great weekend.
Hello Toxic,
Thanks for the review. I'm glad you like the song. I still haven't figured out how to record vocals very well. I have a Sure Beta 58 mic that I'm running straight into my computers mic jack for the recording. Do you have any suggestions on how I could get it to sound better other than going to a studio? Thanks again for the review, I'll check out some of your tunes.
Love the vocals and the guitar and the keyboards. Wicked screams and the solo totally f**king rips man. Keep working this one dude. I'm faving this one.
