What DAW did u use..FL...reason? etc..It has a kinda psy feel to it..U need a bassline to roll with the kick and theres too many stops in it. It has potential tho. Maybe a little reverb on those synths to give it a bigger sound. But i would concentrate on a bassline first then take it from there. Nice work man,,keep it up..
I like the beat, sets up a great dark tone. The strings work very well to reinforce the mood. IMHO this would be great as an intro to a longer dark ambient piece I would love to listen to. You handle dark well.
i like this. its a little dark and sa-low feeling [hope im explaining it right] makes me think of a scene in a boat with pretty blue water for some reason. like jaws. very mellow.
yo man this is pritty cool and quite alot of dubstep drums are at half time so it's all good and there no set rules to dubsetp so try not to stick to drum patterns but obviously go for what sounds good.
Dark music, highlighted by the contrabass .... although the inspiration for the "A Solar Empire" .... Very well done, with very melodious and dissonant passages ....
I'm really liking this track. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I had an idea to use the first part of it up to the oh ##### part as an intro but I would consider using the whole thing if the song I'm writing fits it, using the other part near the end. My music isn't trance but it's not your typical metal either. What do you think?
yea its a great start but its pretty barebones. i agree pads would help a great deal to fill it out. some other effects would be great... maybe some more hats and beat change ups. great sound so far though man!
I love the clean sound you've produced here, crisp drums and you have really got the bass right - add a few pads and I think this could become a well round Dubstep track (which isn't as easy to produce as it sounds right?)
Thanks for the review! Ive definitely been giving pads a look at. I think its exactly what this track needs. And yes, I completely agree. Well-rounded Dubstep is hard to come by. That said, I dont want people thinking that I see myself as a master at making well-rounded Dubstep. If anything, it's just taught me that I have barely scratched the surface as to how to go about making a track for the genre.
hey just got your message :p, i would say this is pretty cool tbh.
and dont worry i would say this is dubstep, but you may want to tone the bass down a fair bit, and make it fair less trance like, the way i do my basslines is by making like dnb/neuro/clownstep basslines and make them slightly thicker. by this i mean vary the bass every 1 step.
with the drums, you;ve got some pretty nice ones in this track, and they work well with the bass :),
my advice with drums is try and keep them down to halfstep tempo, ie them being at 70 bpm while everything else is 140.
Hey thanks! I'll take what you have said and see what I can do. Also, I laughed a bit when you mentioned it being trance like xD Im comfortable with making trance so it makes sense that it somehow nestled its way into my track haha!
