Same dude I've been kinda out here lately, anyways man I love this buildup you did here and same goes with those banger growls my God and that change in 3:44 is nice, dude you're improving so fast keep it up man.
Thank you so much!! I always look forward to your comments :) I've kinda just been practicing my sound design recently, so that's why I've been inactive, but also why this track is of a slightly higher quality than usual. Also I'm glad you like the slightly out-there switch - it was a bit of an experiment, so it's good to see it paid off. Thanks again, and see ya around.
Yes! I've actually been listening to a few PhaseOne tracks recently. This probably isn't too similar to any songs released through Disciple, though, as I didn't think to use a reference track when making this.
It sounds really good!
The only thing I would say is that there isn't really enough low end. It feels like you threw a highpass on the track and cut out the bass.
I kinda get what you're saying, at least in relation to certain synths, such as the 808 bass in the future bass parts. Looking at it through both a parametric EQ and frequency analyser, however, there is definitely an ample amount of low end, certainly in the drops, but maybe my mixing prevented it from cutting through enough? Thanks for the feedback!
Awesome, hearing that makes me really happy! It took a while to get the piano to sound natural, so I'm glad that it paid off in the end. The full EP will be released along with the final song (so maybe in, like, a week or so). I know that might be a strange(ish) way to do it, but it's what Teminite did for his last EP, and I didn't want to go a month or so without releasing a track, so I saw it as the best choice.
I found this unique because of the fusion dubstep and future bass very very creative there, Drop reminds me of Mumbai Power by skrillex same goes with the ambience intro is greatly done, No more words to say this is really great hope you make more something like this in the your future track.
What a genuinely, GENUINELY brilliant mindset to have. That actually makes me feel a whole lot more comfortable in making whatever I feel like, certainly as it's coming from a listener. I'll try my utmost to keep that in mind whenever I'm working on a piece, and I think other producers should as well. Thank you so much.
This is really awesome your drop is really hitting hard, but it's a bit loud for me I think you need to put sidechain aswell but overall it's a damn banger.
Thank you; feedback like this is greatly appreciated! Go ahead, if you want, and check out the creators of the loops behind the song. Anyway, sidechaining is always one of the first things I set up, but I made it more subtle for this track since dubstep drum beats tend to have a lot of kick 'action', so having too strong of a sidechain can sound a bit strange, if you get where I'm coming from. However, I do wholeheartedly agree with your first criticism. I might, at some point, go back and fiddle around with the master track to make the limiter less prominent.
Hey Xen0s i really like your intro and your chord progression but I think the problem here is the buildup part at 0:36 your melody is blocking your drums you need to put sidechain in that part including your drop but I really like your melodic drop tho. anyways this is a real banger. Peace out
Thanks so much for pointing that out. In all honesty, I wasn't too pleased with the percussive aspect of the buildup in any case, so I see your point. If I went back to edit this track, there'd definitely be a bunch of stuff I'd change, like giving the buildup snare a more prominent transient, pushing everything to mono before each drop and, as you said, introducing some sidechaining in the buildup to allow more room for the percussion. I don't know whether I WILL go back and change this project, but I really do appreciate your constructive criticism :)
Thanks so much! I just checked out your SoundCloud, and damn, there's a whole bunch of high-production stuff there. You should keep up the good work as well!
