Hey Brother Mike
This track is out of this world my dear mike.
How have you been mate?
Unfortunately, on the 3rd of May, I went to the hospital to have a stent put in.
with an hour later I was transported to another hospital for triple bypass ops.
I am recovering at the moment as soon as I'm well I will be back.
See you soon mate.
Maj
Maj! dear friend and fellow survivor, i knew while you were mia that you must be going through some changes, but wow, buddy. i am so glad to hear you are recovering! all of my thoughts are with you at this moment, my friend. good lord, what an experience this life is! a big hug to you, Maj!
hey there, BB! i love that spare but really expressive beat and how well it matches eliot’s own cadence recorded like a hundred years ago. i’m really happy to have your listen, man!
Extremely interesting waveform, I knew I was in for a treat.
This track is very creative. I've listened to it twice trying
to figure out that "Occidental-ish" melody that runs through the center of the whole track. Super engaging really draws you in.
man that mangled sound was the result of one of those accidents that go beyond understanding, and the way silverpaw played it is so empathetic and syncretic, it’s def a match for our chosen subject. i’m really happy you caught this, bro!
Stokesey you are really on the mark of late, again this is quality bro. this track doesn't pretend to be anything, simplistic melody, flat straight drum and snare, and that kick bro, beautiful. great vox its like a sermon. its like a lesson on a new way of life, you want to listen, as i say simplistic but so textured to create an aura of tranquillity, you say its old yet it so fresh sounding the mix is crystal clear, bang on Mike
Paul, man it’s a treat to get such a nice response to this piece. it makes me fucking so amazed and appreciative of actually having someone to share things with, its hard to express but i trust you understand and you are one good soul, man!
You're an artist my friend. Love the atmosphere you created, drums simple but perfect, lovely pad type thing (what is that?) and the poem is beautiful. And the sound quality is crystal. Too much.
this comes from an age ago, i had a real education from corey/silverpaw and we had a shared interest in ts, so this. i gotta find that man again. he is a real artist. the mangly sounds are mostly tortured casio by me resampled and played by silverpaw. cheers, buddy!
xstokes interesting interplay between the drums and narrative that’s hitting heavy. I really dig how you set the timing between the two. Interesting listen.
thanks, mark! i’m telling ya, reading eliot is its own reward, but listening to him reading is a journey, and christ that cat had rhythm. thanks for such a nice comment, man!
Wow wow wow you've outdone yourself again!!
I love this bounce and the deep sound of the drumkicks.
For this one you get a 10 bro!!!
This beat is just great!!!
the mastering as always perfect.
i’m so happy you liked this! it’s from years ago but still sounded pretty fresh to me so thought i’d share it. silverpaw was like a mentor and a brother to me and i hope i can find him again. so it makes me think of some others i care about but haven’t been good about keeping in touch with. i will do something about that! thank you for being out there, sister!
Very cool! The first part, for some reason, reminded me of Wilco. When it picked up Bowie came to mind. Sets a cool stage, I feel resurrected suddenly.
Tumeke. Love the lyrics. Those guitar loops (?) are sublime. You got a style all your own man and I truly love it. This link is in no way related apart from having a word in common in the title https://youtu.be/IlZmx8U7lf0
thanks, man! the gtr loops from sharpbeats, harry, and rits have superb tones! haha i think tall dwarfs ran the psychobilly ward of the flying nun hospital, great stuff.
i’d be shocked if you haven’t heard this before, but here’s a gtr sound i’ve always really liked. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=89Y0T64EHMs
Nice intro mate, love spoken word,it forces you to listen more intently, nice creativity the quirky vox are scary could have done another 40 seconds maybe a repeat of the intro very delicate and charming
thanks, paul — i had headed towards a reprise of the mallets and only switched that off at the last edit. hmm…
i am going to follow your lead and record vox in the shower. i’m gonna let the water run on mine, tho.
Its a interesting subject that we have touched on before but to turn it into this masterful work of art, Ah by gum you truly lead and us lambs will follow. but not on sundays thats bath day!
musically your on a level yourself man oustanding in every sense or senses in when you add your vocals its the icing on the cake.
we have a little story swapping to catch up on, its true mate. i’m glad we’re for this, yknow, man?
feeling flickers in here out there — some good energy this week and shit man i didn’t even dial in to yr series til the wedn edition, so you can imagine the chuff! cheers!
Another wonderful track - glorious lofi sounds, nice indie vocal and beautiful ambience ... do you like the animal collective ... this one reminds me of them
mind blown dude what species are you these days?!? its always a new level with you man! love the organ at the end, this reminds me of revolution #9 come to think abot it and i mean that as a compliment, very cool man!
i do have a major graft thing going on, i’m afraid! dang, man i’m happy to see you uploading more stuff here — i end up listening to so much loop that i don’t hit soundcloud etc too often, i wish all i had was time…. but you, my friend, are too far out and was love at first listen. i promise, one of times we will get it together
